33cl Bottle from De Bierkoning. I’ll rate it here, as it says "Bottle", but it’s the same ABV as the cask version, 10%. This bottling was released at the same time as the cask version, for the Brettanomyces days at In de Wildeman. So it appears there are 2 bottlings? Anyway: Black colour, light-brown head. Aroma of black liquorice, leather, slightly salty, dark chocolate, some coffee and cream, slightly ashy. Flavour is quite sweet, but also salty, salty black liquorice, chocolate, quite some leather, tobacco, moccha, ashy bitter finish with some coffee and sugar. Fullbodied, slightly alcoholic. Lovely stuff. TheJvd (1291) - NETHERLANDS - AUG 18, 2013
Bottle, 10%. Pours pitch black with a medium tanned head. Aroma is difficult to describe. There is some roasted malts, quite some licorice, but also a weird funkiness. Taste has some roasted malts, quite a lot of licorice, alcohol and a medium bitter finish. Medium to full bodied, medium carbo and a smooth texture. Too much licorice for me. madmitch76 (25009) - , Essex, ENGLAND - MAY 19, 2013

Opaque dark brown beer, good cream - tan coloured head. Nice nose of lactose malt and a little chocolate. Palate is light and slightly dry and airy. Quite a creamy malt with a touch of dark toffee and very mild roast. Turns a little tangy. Very light hop on the finish.
Black pour. Small tan head. No lacing. Sour note with some coffee background. Some chocolate. Very rich malty taste with dried dark fruit, vanilla, chocolate and coffee. Nice sweet finish. Pretty good.

Bottle at the ChrisO Holiday Tasting, London - thanks to Ian. Pours oily, black-brown with a wimpy, bubbly tan head. Sweet, dark bready malt nose, some milk chocolate. Medium sweet flavor, some burnt wood, faint maple syrup, dark sugars. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Warming finish, bit of alcohol, burnt wood, earthy bitterness. NIce stuff, though not outstanding.

Bottle at Chriso’s tasting in London, 121230. Very dark brown beer with a small brownish head. Vinous aroma, caramel, licorice, woody, chocolate, toffee notes. Spicy vinous flavor, licorice, prune, some strange sweaty notes. A bit odd and not a favorite to me. planky84 (3319) - Lee, Greater London, ENGLAND - DEC 28, 2012
Bottle from Lee Off Licence. Black pour with a tan head. Coffee, dark malt, licorice and chocolate aroma. Flavours of licorice toffee, coffee and dark chocolate. Pleasant alcohol burn. Long dry, sweet finish. Nice. Desverger (11867) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - DEC 21, 2012
(330ml Bottle from Lee Off Licence) Dark brown/black in colour with small tan head, medium in body, oily in texture. Aroma has notes of roasted caramel malt. The taste has both sweet and sour facets to it, with caramel roasted malt, sweet dark fruits (prune maybe) and bitter dark chocolate. Very different one this, didn’t rate much at first but kind of grew on me by end of the bottle. Decent! (D5)
