3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap at Whole Foods. Amber pour with 2 finger white head. Earth, pine, caramel, lemon, pepper, light fruit. Moderately bitter with trailing aftertaste. Light sweetness. Moderate, crisp body.
Taster at brewpub. Pours golden with a thin white head. Leaves some lacing. Has some fruity ester notes on the nose. Fairly hop forward with kind of a pine/grapefruit thing competing with the Belgian yeast thing. Not bad but not to my liking. porjos (5) - Danville, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 15, 2013 does not count
My favorite to have with their "Purist Burger". Has a few spices and citrus undertones competing with each other, with a great semi-dry and hoppy finish. ROGUE (2215) - Lewes, Delaware, USA - FEB 26, 2013
On tap at The Grey Lodge. Pours a hazy deep golden color with a thick white head that fades slowly, leaving patchy rings. Aroma of bittering hops and yeasty funk with touches of citrus, bready sweetness, and caramel Taste is mild bitter and juicy hops up front, with a touch of citrus rind. Followed by Belgian yeast, light funk, and peppery spice and a touch of caramel with residual sweetness. Fresh biscuits lead into the finish. Medium body, well carbonated, dry and crisp. jredmond (8285) - New York, New York, USA - JUL 18, 2011

On tap at the brewery as party of beerquest 2.5. Mildly hoppy and some yeast notes. Not overly dry which is good. kramer (6682) - Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 28, 2011
Tap. Pours a slightly cloudy dark amber body with a one finger frothy off-white head that had nice retention. The nose is nicely hoppy with a nice floral and citrusy balance over a fairly heavy malt base. There’s some nice Belgian yeast fruitiness as well, but the nose certainly leans towards the hops. Flavor is on the sweeter and fruitier side, even with the prominant hops. I do like the yeast profile on the flavor quite a bit. Nice thicker texture with a bit of clinginess and moderate fizzy carbonation. Overall, pretty nice. I think I like the style a little bit lighter on the malt on the whole as well. Enjoyable.
