A full-bodied copper colored pale ale prepared with magnificent flavors of American hops and balanced by using carmelized malts with hints of smooth fruit flavors from yeast. A nose of a fresh hops without the bitterness.

Tap @brewpub. Copper color, medium-sized creamy off-white head. Malty, light citrus in the nose. Light-bodied. Citrus, Earthy flavors, almost like alcoholic bite. Unbalanced pale ale.

50 cl bottle @ Timo A.
Pours clear copper color with a large white head. Some mild hops on the nose, orange peel, some pale malts and herbs. Somewhat malty sweet flavor, some fruits and resinous hops, hay and caramel also. Actually better than expected but still a bit bland. Quite high score from me to a new country tick.

The palate is very light here. Hops just plain bitterness with prominent barley malt they seem to use for several beers here. Pours golden with average carbonation, medium consistency. On tap at brewpub.

Bottle. Hazed amber with a short off-white head. Aroma is your typical tropical fruit cocktail and resin American hops with a rather plain caramel maltiness that shows as dull bread, bran muffins, and wort, combined with an ester resemblance to red delicious apples. Medium bodied, sweet with assertive bitterness, bready and toasty in the mouth with rough edges. Pretty much your average American brewpub pale ale, goopy, sweet, estery and resinous with malt character of Cracklin’ Oat Bran cereal.

650 ml bottle, thanks Timo A. Pours a dark golden colour with a white head. Aroma of grapefruit, sweet malts and gooseberries. Flavour of pale malts, grapefruit, red berries, some herbal notes and bread. Medium bodied and soft carbonation. A bit musty. Not bad, though.

22 oz bottle. Pours a clear dark copper body with a small fizzy off-white head that fell to a thin partial covering. The nose is minimally hoppy with some husky malt and a little caramel. The flavor is a little lacking in the hops department as well. Not overly sweet, but rather husky and grainy with a bit of crystal malt on the finish. Minimal bitterness on the finish. Light to medium bodied with soft fizzy carbonation. Not the worst of the bunch from Old Harbor, but not the best either.

In short: An amateurish golden ale that marred by an old past due-date orange juice flavor..
How: Tap at brewpub.
The look: Clear golden blond body topped by a persistent small white head.
In long: Nose has a discreet fruitiness that feels more like yeasty fruity esters than fruity hops. Taste is tangerines, orange flesh, corn-ish cereals, a bit of caramel, shy hopping with a light spiciness . Just like with their Coqui Lager this so-called Pale Ale had way too much of an old past due-date orange juice flavor with the awkward acidity. Light body and with a soda-pop carbonation. Another lame beer from Old Harbor. Not only is it lame but I’m not even sure this could qualify has an Pale Ale even if it wasn’t problematic. The more I was drinking the creations of the Old Harbor brewer I found myself less and less impress by Bin Laden’s accomplishments.

Sampled at the brewpub in Old San Juan. Light brownish almost like watered down iced tea and it is a bit hazey. Creamy thin head that hangs. Has IPA hints in the aroma. Some mild pine as well. Certainly an ale with its annoying hopped prudish flavors. Not quite as high on the IPA flavor scale but it does approach that level. Ropey savory and dull pale ale finish with a medium lingering medicinal bite.

Beershine (5253) - VANCOUVER, British Columbia, CANADA - NOV 11, 2011
Draft @ brewpub. Copper with nice lacing. Fruity American hops. Soft palate and quaffable. Nice balanced beer. Not overly hoppy, but very nice.

travita (5008) - Dallas, Texas, USA - NOV 30, 2013
Bottle thanks to AC. The look is clear, amber in color, with a thin off white head. The smell is floral, grass, hops, fruits, and caramel. The taste is pine, hops, grass, and caramel.
