On tap at the Old Market. This brew’s flavor let me down a bit from the initial crisp big hop nose. Lots of hops in the aroma give this brew a sweet hop start. The flavor however has a big lemon soap presence to it, reminds me of electrasol detergent. Very oily on the palate, this brew had some great potential with all the big hops, but the soapiness really ruined this brew. harlequinn (2744) - Tacoma, Washington, USA - FEB 17, 2006
This is a very nice little APA. A very big grapefruit nose, and also that trademark hoppy funkiness with a nice fresh malty aroma as well. This has a very pleasing flavor on the palate, very well balanced and one of the better beers I tried here. Sarlacc83 (2287) - Portland, Oregon, USA - AUG 16, 2014
A: Opaque copper with a thin white head.
N: Substantial spruce and earth. Pineapple, grapefruit, biscuit, and even a hint of rapsberry.
T: Densely bitter - submerged leaves. Minor sweetness.
M: Medium body, very dense with lower carb levels.
O: a throwback brew, what I remember drinking a lot of when I first started my beer journey. 11026 (1772) - Alabama, USA - APR 30, 2005
Tap. An amber?? From the name I expected an IPA. Deep amber in color, scant off-white head. Malt and hop aroma, much more hop presence than I would expect from an amber ale. Medium bodied. Pleasant hop flavor with adequate malt balance. Fair as an IPA better as an amber Murphy (1759) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - FEB 9, 2004
This one is loaded with spicy hops. Amber ale? Better call this one an IPA. Very fresh hop taste. Hops all over.

For an IPA, not quite bitter, for an amber too much. Kind of a weird brew, but good nonetheless. Nikiel (879) - Portland, Oregon, USA - JUN 5, 2011
On tap at OMP with Jeff. Pours a light amber with white foam. Smells of very floral hops. Tastes bitter and hoppy with hints of overly bitter strawberries and extra hops. microdyke (360) - Portland, Oregon, USA - JUN 22, 2003
A dark golden color with a diminished head. A bitterness up front with some sweet caramel to follow. Fair. BeaverBrown (245) - Portland, Oregon, USA - JUN 15, 2003
Amber with a small creamy white head. Smells like hops and toffee. Taste hoppy and caramel.
