imdownthepub (15425) - Banbury, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - SEP 21, 2013
Cask conditioned at York Beer Festival ’13. Dark brown with cream head. Quite a malty beer, dry and bitter rather than fruity. Thin on the palate. I didn’t get the chocolate nor sweetness. Not keen.

bhensonb (15858) - Woodland, California, USA - APR 13, 2013
Cask at the Roman Bath in York. Pours very dark brown with a truly creamy beige head. Light mocha aroma. Med body. Flavor is dusty chocolate with dark malt. It thins rapidly. Gets a touch chalky. Tasty without being filling. Finishes dry and bitter.

dogbomb (1255) - ENGLAND - NOV 28, 2012
Cask. Brown/ruby ale with an offwhite thick head. Nose of toffee and fudge and malt. A little creamy toffee. Taste is mellow - creamy light toffee, amaretto biscuit, slight nuttiness. Finish is a bit lighter than I'd like for a porter, but a pleasant drink overall.

3.2
tombyars (1776) - Saltcoats, SCOTLAND - NOV 22, 2011
Tasted this at the Troon Beer Festival in October 2011. Cask, gravity dispense. Black mahogany in colour with a thin white head. Roast malt evident in the short aroma. Thin mouthfeel and poor lacing. Dark malts give a sweet flavour of plain chocolate, coffee, dark berry fruit and dry liquorice. Bitter resins give a short dusty hoppy aftertaste which compliments the dry roasted malt flavours. The finish is dry with sweet black treacle and liquorice notes. An excellent session porter.

2.9
Ober (2811) - Bommelerwaard, NETHERLANDS - NOV 22, 2011
