It’s quite the enjoyable beer, and I have yet to run across another light beer as flavorful. Most light beers only hint at the taste of a good brew, but this one does rather well and is a great find for someone who enjoys beer without the carbs. Not heavy and balanced...suprisingly good! One of the cleanest, best tasting light beers around. Seems most of the purely microbrew drinkers aren’t rating beers against others of the same style...because if they were then they would realize that Old Milwaukee Light is a top quality light beer. How many times has this one won a gold medal at the Great American Beer Festival? Consumer Reports consistently rates Old Milwaukee as a best buy. This is a helluva good light beer. Is this as good and flavorful as a top notch American pale ale? No way, but we’re not talking about pale ales, just light lagers and this is a damn good one. rangerred (989) - Johnson City, Tennessee, USA - NOV 1, 2011
Drank straight out of the can.
No appearance this time but I’ve poured this beer before and it is a light yellow typical of light lagers.
The smell is light corn and grain and I swear I smell a little bit of hops in there.
Taste is much like the smell. A light cereal grain with just a hint of corn on the back end. There is very little hop presence but it is there a tiny bit. The finish is completely clean and leaves you wanting another drink.
A friend turned me onto this beer and I’m very glad he did. It is a step above other mass produced light lagers and is one of the best values out there.

Jean’s favorite beer, so it can’t be bad. I enjoyed the light but crisp flavor. I REALLY like the 24 oz. "high boys"

Pretty good shit for a light beer which I am religiously against light beers. Not as good as Old Mil heavy. ronaldtheriot (1936) - Laplace, Louisiana, USA - SEP 30, 2012
Old Milwaukee Light has a thick, stark-white head, a clear, bubbly, straw appearance, and a surprisingly good amount of residual lacing. The aroma is faint sweetness and grain, and the flavor is the same, and it has almost no hop bitterness. Mouthfeel is light and watery, and Old Milwaukee Light finishes crisp, clean, refreshing, dry, and ultra drinkable. Overall, for what it is, it’s a very good beer. RTJ

Tastes alright and for the price it is not that bad. Better out of returnable bottles Jedsbrew (465) - Rhineland, Missouri, USA - DEC 1, 2001
UPDATED: JUL 26, 2005 I’m still looking, not too hard, but I have yet to find a macro light beer that is any tastier than this one. It’s probably just me, but it doesn’t seem to have that watered down texture to it that so many of them do. KCKajr (15) - Kansas City, Kansas, USA - MAR 31, 2004
This is everything a light beer should be. Take that for what it's worth...I meant it as a compliment. Old Milwaukee is basic, un-offensive and it brings nothing new to the table....but there's really nothing wrong with it either. It's kind of like the pop music of beers. We all pretend to hate it because thats the cool thing to do, but when you're alone in your car and it comes on the radio you don't change the station. Well the jig is up. As far as American Lights go this is clean, crisp, and refershing to throw back on a hot summers day.
