1.6 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
1 Pt. 6 Fl. Oz. Bottle. Pours clear gold with a huge white head that goes away quickly and leaves a decent lacing trace. Aroma of grain and yeast. Taste pretty much the same lots of grain and corn taste, alcohol is present there too. Not too good, not a fan.
600 ml bottle. Pours golden with fluffy, white head and soda like carbonation. Aroma is of some grassy hops and lemonade. Body is medium and crisp. Taste is of chalk, mineral water, some chemical and robitusin. What a waste of money. Headbanger (4021) - Aurora, Illinois, USA - FEB 1, 2017
22oz bottle 2/1/17 (Binny’s Montgomery)-40° in Lager Glass. Pours golden with a small head. Aroma of sweetness, grains, and malt. Taste of the same with a bit of alcohol. This light to medium bodied brew was nothing to write home about, hopdog (13102) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 3, 2016
Bottle. How can you go wrong with a monk on a beer label and a special beer make for beer lovers? Well, I guess this answers my question. I guess this monk was drunk when he agreed to have his picture on a Malt Liquor from India (not that there is anything wrong with India) ... alexsdad06 (10805) - West Chester, Ohio, USA - AUG 1, 2016
Bottle from notes. Didn’t record where just that I should never do this again. Pours a clear dark golden color with a small off white head. The aroma and flavor have old cream corn, apples, metallic notes, off vegetal notes, skunk, just a mess of a beer. Why? BlackBeerPG (890) - Darien, Illinois, USA - DEC 4, 2015
Taste is Crisp, malty alcohol boozy, spiced.
Gold and clear in color.
Oak like malt nose. Medium to full body.
smaller head with some lace. This one is a sipper.

Every once in a while i remind myself of what good beer is like by punishing my palate with a crappy european lager or third world country malt liquor. Today is one of those days! Thins white head of varying sized bubbles that dissapates rather quickly. Interesting arome with cream soda, corn, skunk and some biscuity malts with a lingering synthetic vanilla aroma. Color is like urine after a night of heavy drinking. Taste is about the same! Actually, it is not as bad as i expected. More corn and cream soda and is quite sweet. Lively in the mouth with a noticeable alcohol presence and warming. Dry and a but tart at the finish. Not as bad as i had hoped but certainly not that good either! Pours a straw from a bottle, quickly dissipating head with little lacing. Very surprised by this one. Not much aroma, a little sweet rice flavor, round mouthfeel, one of the better pale lagers I've had.

Pours clear yellow with big fluffy head that dissipates quickly but leaves a bit of attractive lacing and skim.
Odd aroma, vegetal yet sweetish with whiff of alcohol. In the glass, grassy hops press against mediciney malts, with a suggestion of dried fruits, or half-processed fruits, bacon and smoke. Not so much smoked bacon, as two distinct notes, one of smoke and one a meaty slickness.
Aside from the occasional metallic note, none of these flavors are terrible in themselves. It is just hard to figure what they are all attempting to do together in this beer.
Let’s face, there are many far worse West Coast IPAs, but the market for this should be those looking for an inexpensive, relatively alcoholic beverage at the end of the night. ccex (1365) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JAN 22, 2015
What a crock! I’m fond of North Coast Brother Thelonious and the top-rated ales brewed by monks in Europe, so I was a sucker for this label for an 8% ABV brew from India. I’ve never had a beer from India that I’ve truly enjoyed, and this one is no exception, other than being exceptionally bad. From the first whiff, I knew that this would be one of the worst I’ve tried. I haven’t finished it yet, and it might be my 2nd drain pour out of 1,000 I’ve tried. I like music and movies that are so bad they’re good (Florence Foster Jenkins and Ed Wood come to mind). Still, I implore fellow RateBeerians to avoid this one. I doubt it will become a cult classic. It’s just nasty.
22 oz bottle pours a clear golden yellow with small soapy white head and no lacing. Aroma conjures up my worst nightmares of a toxic third world dumping grounds for obsolete technology: burnt plastic, soggy boxes, a prairie fire and hydrochloric acid.
OK, to be fair, the aroma has some honest dark fruits, corn, and grass. Taste is sweet like corn syrup with a bit of bitterness in the finish, which is surprisingly bereft of alcolhol burn. . Body is medium with an oily mouthfeel.. It actually gets better as it wams up. It wasn’t a drain pour, and the headache hasn’t set in yet. j12601 (13099) - Poughkeepsie, New York, USA - DEC 28, 2014
Bottle at James’ for the multi-K tasting. Pours a clear gold with a thin white head. Super grainy, sweet grain with a bit of sugared grain. Medium bodied, grain and a bit of sweetness. Grain, sweet and boring into the finish. Meh.
