Gifted to me, or left in the fridge after a inner because there was wine or beer on hand.

Draft at Beervana. Clear amber color, few bubbles. Aroma of fresh apple flesh. Taste is sweet apple, subtle citrus. Not bad.

GoufCustom (2175) - HONG KONG - AUG 2, 2013

500ml bottle bought at Oliver’s The Delicatessen in Central.

Clear, whitewine-like extremely pale greenish yellow colour; Razor thin head and soapy residual white foam which fades in 15 seconds; Minimal lacing with notable fizzy carbonation; Very light tart aroma of apple juice, some apple flesh, hint of wood, and flashes of light sparkling wine; Very light sweet and tart taste of sparkling white wine, apple, light wood, fairly light tannic, and slight hint of booze; Light body, watery palate; Mouth feel is like a diet cider, with all known tastes apple, wine, wood, tannic ,etc are all on fairly light side. Pretty watery and low tannic for wet and unsatisfactory, a bit boozy yet harmless semi-finish. Wet after taste, very easy to mouth.

Comments: After having the nice Pear Scrumpy of the same brand, this one has a disappointingly Diet Coke-like in approach. This beg the question “Do I really want a diet cider?” I love something fruity, sweet and strong and that’s what attracts me to cider in the first place. This one is way too light and watery for me. Pass.

Simple, straightforward apple cider. Tart apple flavour with just a touch of sweetness, and a dry finish. Don’t expect anything too complex and enjoy this tasty and refreshing classic cider.

Classic apple cider appearance, aromas and flavours. Not terribly complex but lipsmacking, generous and reminds me of my favourite barmaid... can I say that?

maneliquor (3514) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - NOV 25, 2011
Bottle from Mane Liquor. The lower abv in this (compared to the scrumpy) brings out the flavours a little more. There is no sweetness running through it though which is what I fancy in the scrumpy. Solid

Bottled. A light golden cider. The aroma is dominated by apples. The flavor is sweet with notes of apples, spices, and fruits, leading to a tart finish.

destroye7 (312) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - SEP 29, 2010
Bottle. Very faint aroma of apples. Clear, pale, very pale yellow. Head disappeared very quickly. Sweet taste of red apples with a dry finish. Good bubbles, medium-fine. Carbonation medium.

ComradeK (1259) - Sydney, AUSTRALIA - JUN 7, 2010
330ml bottle. Pours an appetising straw yellow, with no head. Smells of sweet, ripe apples, with a slight floral hint. It leads with tart apple, flowing into a smooth finish. A decent cider, but pretty simple all in all.

A decent cider, better than other New Zealand efforts I have tried. Pours a pale straw yellow, now head and lightly carbonated. Smells and tastes like apples, nothing to note there really. A fine dry and crisp finish, with a sweet aftertaste. Rather good, would have it again.
