UPDATED: NOV 16, 2017 Draft at Crystal City Sports Pub. It poured black with a tan head and fair lacing. It has a roasted malt aroma with notes of coffee and light cocoa with some spiciness on the tongue. A very nice Porter.

Rich, thick and chocolaty. Color and head mean nothing to me in a brew. Just taste matters. This tastes great!

Purchased in Washington DC (the brew shop) May 2017. Great coffee chocolate aroma. Cola brown but no head. Light carbonation. Rich flavor. Really nice. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Taster at brewery. Pours Coca Cola brown with a thin khaki head. Leaves some lacing in the glass. Big roasted malt and rye notes on the nose. Lots of
Malt on the tongue. Finished clean with a solid amount of bitterness.

Pours a deep brownish black on tap with bubbly tan head that leaves good lace. Aroma of nice dark roasted malts and slight earth. Taste follows, a solid porter, don’t really get the rye. Moderate bitterness, easy drinker.

12 ounce can from nimbleprop. Deep colors. Black and amber. A rocky tan head leaves heavy lacing. In the aroma I get something like pine that leads. Chocolate and roast notes. The flavor begins with very big roast but milk chocolate drifts in. And then dry bitter bakers chocolate. Some rye spice, too. A rich feel.

Can from Dan H. Poured dark brownish black with off-white to light tan head. Aromas of rye, roasty, chocolate, spice. Tastes of nice rye, dark chocolate, roast, coffee, grains. Medium body with a dry finish. Nicely done on the rye. Thanks for the trade Dan.

appearance: very dark brown, short creamy medium tan head. aroma: pretty typical porter aromas--chocolate, coffee, general roast; there’s just a hint of pepper and pine underneath. taste: roasty coffee, dark chocolate, brown bread, hint of toasted vanilla bean, with an undertone of peppery rye. finish: dry and roasty, lingering dark chocolate, pine, and a bare hint of spice; palate is smooth and creamy, just a hint of carbonation. notes: Solid porter. Rye didn’t come through quite as much as I’d hoped, but it was still excellent. Sampled on draft at the brewery, then later from a can.
