pours black with a small brown head that goes away quickly, and not much lacing.
smell is of coffee, cocoa, and roasted malt.
taste is chaulky, bakers chocolate, coffee, a roastiness, some licorice, and sour malt. ends dry and slightly sour. reebtogi (6277) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - NOV 12, 2012
650ml bomber pours black in color with a generous light beige head that leaves some decent lacing on the glass. Aroma is chocolate with roasted grains and hints of coffee. Taste is a light chocolate malty sweetness with some roasted grain and coffee bitterness with a dry nutty finish. Medium bodied with some light carbonation. Flavorful, but easy to drink and one of the better coffee stouts that I have tried. Which is a huge compliment, because I am not a coffee lover. mages64 (72) - Seattle, Washington, USA - OCT 28, 2012
Thanks to Casey and Blaize for sharing such great beers!
Aroma: chocolate, nuts, roasty, and fresh oily coffee.
Appearance: dark of course but with a tight head that is tan. looks nicely carbed.
Taste: beautiful blend without any one part taking center stage. you got chocolate and roast but real coffee and nutty sweetness too.
Palate: ultra smooth with tight carbonation.
Overall: One of the better coffee stouts i’ve had. I’d put it up there with other favs like hitachino espresso and espresso yeti (not as sweet).
