COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Imperial IPA is bigger and more balanced than its little brother, Ruud Awakening IPA, with a stronger malt presence and increased hopping rate. Mild caramel malt character and plenty of Pacific Northwest hops. The Imperial IPA is part of our Brewer’s Reserve Series.

Found this at Bottleworks over the weekend and shared it with COOP Matt tonight.. Pours a dark golden with a nice white head that shows sheets of lacing. Nose is tropical fruitiness and hints of pine... Not nearly as hoppy as I would hope for a DIPA... Flavor has hints of EtOH... the bitterness shows mainly on the finish... The hops are again tropical/pineapple, but they are still pretty light. Body seems a bit heavy without enough carbonation... I had REALLY high hopes for this one after talking to the fella at Bottleworks... but it was a huge letdown... Decent, but I would never buy again without knowing there was a BIG reworking of the recipe.

On tap. Pours a hazy copper amber with a thin off-white head and good lacing. Aroma is of tree fruit. Flavor is a bit sweet, a bit fruity, alcohol prominent, excellent malt, ideal medium bitterness, sweet bitter aftertaste. Quite good.

Bottle. Medium orange, thin white foam. Drinks nice and smooth, with an even-tempered personality. The malt background is sturdy, the hops are woodsy and moderately bitter. 9% beers are getting easier and easier to drink ... scary. (#6083, 12/24/2015)

A quite nice IPA. Well balanced. Pours a clear orange with a white head. Smells very fruity, of pineapple and mango. Taste is on the fruity side for an IPA. Citrus, mango and pineapple, with a bit of balancing hops in the finish. Had in the bottle.

Enjoyed this last night with a couple friends. This is one of the best Imperial IPAs I’ve had from Washington. Alcohol melds well, hop aroma is amazing and the body really helps showcase the hops. Big fan of this brewery!
