Bottle: The aroma consists of moderate chocolate, molasses, black licorice, mild pine, and burnt notes. It pours a dark brown with no transparency and a small tan head that quickly fades to a minimal film outlined by a thin ring. The flavor starts with moderate dark chocolate, lighter molasses and a touch of cream. The finish has moderate black licorice, light roast, pine, and a touch of burnt notes. It’s medium-full bodied with mild carbonation and a somewhat oily mouthfeel.
Bottle, purchased on the now defunct LetsPour. Pours opaque black with a medium creamy tan head and great lacing. Aroma is quite roasty with prominent notes of molasses, pine, deep roasted malts, some bitter cocoa. Flavor is not particularly sweet, medium bitter, rich roasty, lots of molasses, hints of anise, cocoa, rye bread, ashtray, grass. Full body, creamy mouthfeel. Nice to come across an impy that is most definitely not playing the sweet game. Countbeer (6591) - Best of E-Town mit 2 Brauhausen, NETHERLANDS - JUL 22, 2015

A good imperial stout with a bit of overpowering coffee. Pours a beautiful deep black with a thick brown head. Smells of coffee, cinnamon and vanilla. Taste has a bit of vanilla in the front, but is then overpowered a bit by very bitter coffee that lingers into the aftertaste. Had in the bottle. gam (3964) - brisbane, AUSTRALIA - SEP 28, 2014
