Aroma of licorice, burnt rye toast, and bitter dark chocolate. Pours thick black with a small team head. Taste is nice and black with licorice up front and roasted mocha coffee in the tail. Just thick and roasty and amazing. Love this. chuckstout (336) - Washington, USA - AUG 3, 2013

Another local that I’ve ignored far too long. This is their highest rated brew, so eager to try it. Black pour, so-so head, lovely aroma of dark chocolate, roasted grain, sweet malt, licorice, and alcohol. Flavor is more subdued than the aroma would suggest, but dark, bitter chocolate is the main player in this. Yet, not sweet. A bit of licorice in there as well. Bitterness backs things up nicely. Finishes bitter with just a little alcohol. It could use another flavor to put some complexity in this, but overall this is tasty, and I’d buy it again for sure. Nice one.

22oz bottle pours a viscous, opaque black with some creamy brown head. Nutty aroma, burnt toast, licorice. Flavor of windex, burnt toast, burnt coffee beans, rubber. Full, heavy finish with plenty of alcohol burn. zgaier (1965) - Coral Springs, Florida, USA - MAR 6, 2013
Pours black with a brown head and nice chocolate aroma. Taste is sweet, lots of chocolate and roasted malt with a long, alcohol finish. Excellent imperial stout with a lot of chocolate flavors jjgmd (2265) - Coral Springs, Florida, USA - MAR 6, 2013

Bomber to big snifter. Very dark but not the darkest you’ve seen pouring. Nice lasting mocha head. Bitter and delicious. jgb9348 (6515) - Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA - JAN 19, 2013
Pitch, pitch black coloured body with a deep thick brown head, about three centimetres tall. Aroma of roasted malt, alcohol, tons of fruits, prunes, plums, coffee and quite a bit of star anise. Full-bodied; Strong roasty flavour with a bunch of meaty flavours, soy sauce, a bit of earth and caramel and a bit of nutty tastes. Aftertaste shows quite a bit of alcohol, roasted malt, coffee, prunes, raisins and pitted fruits. Overall, a nice, fairly complex and pungent imperial stout - complete with a great body and a nice finish. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Liqour Outlet in Boonton, New Jersey on 11-March-2012 for US$10.55 sampled at home on the Eastern Shore of Virginia on 19-January-2013.
