3.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
A malt forward nose - sweet malts, chocolate, and a hint of dark dried fruit. A dark brown pour with a mosly lasting small tan head and some lacing. A nice, but not over the top, chocolate taste up front with a sweet malt and roasted meat notes in the middle with a nice hoppy bitter finish. Medium-light bodied with flat carbonation. Overall, I realy liked this porter. It was smooth and easy to drink. I wish it had a slightly fuller body, but the taste more than makes up for the my palet issue.
On draft at the brewpub. Pours a clear dark cola with a tan head. Aroma of toasted malt. Flavors of roasted nuts and light licorice. Smooth finish. mcberko (18068) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JUN 13, 2016
On tap at Old Schoolhouse, pours an amber brown with a small white head. Aroma brings out toasted malt and a touch of coffee. Flavour is light but quite dynamic, with toasted malt and a touch of coffee. Light-bodied but well-balanced. Good stuff. Oakes (17831) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - MAY 9, 2015
Nitro at the brewpub. Dark brown with thick nitro head, sweetish, a touch of brown sugar and a hit of black malt. thb (830) - Alberta, CANADA - AUG 29, 2014
Dark ruby brown with half inch of head. Aroma is rich toast, chicory, cocoa, nuts. Taste is similar, with the nuts being really prominent compared to the style. Dry. As promised, some bright northwest hops peek through. Bitter finish. Lots going on in it. On the far end of the dry/bitter end of the porter spectrum...which it handles quite well. Cola appearance with a small scum of tan head up top. Delicious chocolate dessert flavors with a nice bitter backing. Presumably this is from both the hops and the roast malts. Great Porter out of a small town brewery.

A very solid porter all the way around -- reminds me of a light stout in many ways. Silky texture. Chocolate notes in abundance, with perhaps a bit of roastiness. For the ABV, it’s absolutely amazing what they did. maxwelldeux (4374) - Snohomish, Washington, USA - JUN 20, 2014
Draught at WA Brewers Festival, 2014. Pours a dark brown color with a small head on it. Nose is roasty and fairly light. Taste is also quite roasty, with a good amount of chocolate in there. Feels nice and smooth. Me gusta mucho. beernovice39 (3270) - Idaho, USA - JAN 24, 2014

22oz bottle in a tulip. Pours black with a beige head. Aroma of roasted malts, chocolate, coffee, and some dough and light bitterness. Flavor the same, but the chocolate and roast are more apparent on the finish than up front. Average to smooth texture. A pretty good porter. ROGUE (2215) - Lewes, Delaware, USA - SEP 24, 2013
22oz bottle. Pours a dark brown color with a one inch light tan head that lingers. Pleasant chocolate and coffee aroma. Tastes of roasted malts, a hint of cherry, dark chocolate, a bit of an earthy quality, and a mild bitterness. Medium body and low carbonation.
