On tap at Old Schoolhouse, pours an amber brown with a small white head. Aroma brings out toasted malt and a touch of coffee. Flavour is light but quite dynamic, with toasted malt and a touch of coffee. Light-bodied but well-balanced. Good stuff. Oakes (17664) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - MAY 9, 2015
Nitro at the brewpub. Dark brown with thick nitro head, sweetish, a touch of brown sugar and a hit of black malt. bhensonb (15188) - Woodland, California, USA - MAY 3, 2010
Bomber from Malt & Vine. Pours clear, but very dark, reddish brown with a slight foamy beige head. Aromas of chocolate and dark malt. Medium+ body with light, foamy carbonation. Flavor is very dark toast, but smooth, with a touch of chocolate. Must be a lot of hop because it finishes more bitter than most porter, and it doesn’t seem to be from burnt malt. Mild chocolate in the finish. Pretty refreshing. argo0 (14127) - Washington DC, USA - JUL 10, 2010
22oz bottle. Medium tan head atop clear dark brown body. Aroma is medium sweet, roast, bittersweet chocolate, light nut. Taste is medium sweet, bittersweet chocolate, roast, light nut, smoke. Smooth light-medium body. Sammy (12195) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - MAY 18, 2013

Tap at Churchkey. Pours a deep ruby with amber highlights topped by a small, tannish brown head with nice retention. Big sheety lace. Aroma is powdery, slightly floral, light and juicy, lemon and orange. Sweet grapefruity hops come through. Taste is citrus, pine, herbal hoppy, heavy herbal. Nice lemon and herbal bitterness. A little on the thin side but very sessionable albeit a little chalky on the palate towards the end. Not bad- a hoppy session porter. blipp (9268) - La Mesa, California, USA - MAR 11, 2011
Draft. Pours near black with a beige head. Roasted malty aroma with a light fruity sweetness. The flavor has lightly roasted malts, a hint of dark chocolate, and a light sweetness. Decent. nimbleprop (8376) - SouthWest, Washington, Washington DC, USA - JUL 12, 2010
22oz bottle pours a watery, opaque black with a thin, creamy head. Mild aroma, nutty, toasted bread, light chocolate. Flavor is mild, malty, sweet, dark breads, brown sugar. Finish is medium bodied and dry. after4ever (8025) - Mukilteo, Washington, USA - FEB 7, 2010
22. Pours a grainy and nearly opaque dark ebony with a towering, sudsy tan head. Roasty and toasty nose, almost little hints of char and ash in there, really dark and dry aromatics. Creamy medium body, soft carb. Roasty, hot and dry toasted malt foundation on the mid-palate. Bits of bitter chocolate creep in, and it all washes out into a somewhat allspice-y dry finish. Very decisive stylistic statement as porters go, definitely running far to the other end of the spectrum from the sweet and creamy porters out there. On draft at the brewpub. Pours a clear dark cola with a tan head. Aroma of toasted malt. Flavors of roasted nuts and light licorice. Smooth finish.
