It is a blend of chocolate, citrus, raisins, and grapefruit in the aroma. It is black with a medium brown head. It has a strong coffee flavor with medium bitterness. There is also grapefruit with other citrus flavors. There is also a hint of raisins.

Dark brown with a tan head. Aroma of wood, roast, earthy, caramel and cocoa notes. Flavour is above moderate sweet and bitter. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.
Bottle thanks to Santa. Little older than I like my hoppy beers but it held up decent t. Pours out black with a small tan head. Aroma is of roast, chocolate, sweet syrup, bitter citrus and grassy hops, light soy sauce. Bomber poured a clear reddish brown with a lasting tan head. Aromad of roasted malt, earthiness, grapefruit zest and light pine. Palate was light bodied and smooth with a dry finish. Pours a respectable black with a touch of ruby in it. Aroma is amazing... dark chocolate, some espresso and a touch of smoke rounds out the awesome nose. Somewhere though, there is a bit of sweet citrus playing in the nose. Clean flavor of citrus and pine followed by dark roasted malt and smokey cocoa. Overall, this was really pleasurable to drink.

Nose is pine, roast malt, spice, light tropical fruit notes.
Taste comprises pine needle, light charr, biscuit, spice, grapefruit, earthy hops.
Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close.

Aroma: It has a light roasted malt and light hop aroma, feels a hint dull, but not bad.
Appearance: It pours a dark brown color with a creamy head on top.
Flavor: It has a clean, balanced flavor, with a light roast, and a light bitterness as well.
Palate: This one feels a touch thin, pretty easy drinking, with a light dry finish.
This is an alright Black IPA, not a favorite of mine, but something I didn’t dislike either.

Toasted malts and resinous hops combine in this balanced Black IPA.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A sheet of foam protects the mahogany-hued brown.
-Earthy angles appear from the malt-hop combination.
-Drinkability is rather high.
-The flavor profile is not intense for the style, which I appreciate.

A dark brown ipa with a thin mocha head. In aroma, bitter chocolate malt with herbaceous character, floral hops, resinous, strange. In mouth, a nice bitter chocolate with good floral hops, resinous, grapefruit pulp, nice and smooth. On tap at Olde Hickory Station.
