COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Winner of the First Olde Hickory Pro Am competition. Very limited production. Our brew master says: 71lbs of high alpha hops were used to make this limited production beer of only 13 barrels. Thatís just over 20 grams of hops used for each pint! DBH was brewed with 2 row barley, Carapils and Crisp Crystal 45 malts and fermented to 7% alc/vol. DBH was hopped with 5 different West Coast hops: Chinook, Columbus, Simcoe, Centennial and Cascade. Additionally, DBH was twice dry hopped with different combinations of these hops. The net result is an amazing aroma of ripe juicy fruit mixed in with a bouquet of spring flowers. DBH was brewed to a level of bitterness of 108 IBUís, and leaves a lingering bitterness; it is, after all, a Double IPA!

Bomber--gold color with a medium, white head. Sweet aroma that is decently muted of citrus and pine. Nice, sweet grapefruit taste with lots of hops, but not dominated by the said hops. Solid hop, bitter finish, great stuff. Appalchian Vinter.

Bomber to glass. Pours amber with some opacity. Nice white head that laces nicely down the side of the glass. Smells of citrus hops and resin. Tastes of cirtus goodness and is hoppy deliciousness. Glad this one is a staple in my area.

Oh, how I love the smell of hops and this beer doesnít disappoint in the aroma department. Like all DIPAís, this brew is very hoppy, but goes down extremely smooth. Is a great compliment to the dominating West Coast IPAís, but this one is on the East Coast....thatís good news for me!

650 ml. Pours a lightly hazy amber-golden with a creamy quarter inch of foam. Aroma is crisp citrus zest, resin, earthy caramel and toast. Taste is orange toffee, resin with hints of soap, butterscotch, root vegetable and cardboard. Finish and resulting taste quickly becomes a one note song of hops, but after all this is what they strove for and the craft is evident. Light body is dry and has medium-high, but mostly smooth carbonation.

Bottle shared by dudeabide. Poured hazy copper color with an average frothy off-white head that lasted with good lacing. Moderate to heavy sour citrus complex hop aroma. Medium to full body with a slick texture and soft carbonation. Moderate to heavy bittersweet flavor with a moderate to heavy bittersweet finish of medium to long duration. Very good brew.

The beer pours decently with a hazy orange color that passes through some light, a nice one finger white foamy head, and minimal lacing on the glass. The smell is great with a solid resin, piney scent that lingers, mils citrus. The taste is decent with a piney flavor that just lingers around. The mouthfeel is outstanding as the beer is very well carbonated and it has a very dry mouth. Overall, definitely a hoppy beer that will burn you out but that is what it was suppose to do.
