750ml. Thanks to Derek for sharing... Pours a semi-transparent orangey copper hued elixir and topped a thin soapy white head... Grassy upfront aroma with sweet white grapes to go alongside it. Softer vanilla underneash but definitely more subtle... Flavors are smooth and easy going with earth tea-like sweet grass accents with a lightly semi-bitter finish. Some toasty caramel through the middle with some faint tart dark fruit. Just shy of medium bodied, semi-creamy mouthfeel. jrob21 (3774) - Atlanta, Georgia, USA - FEB 23, 2013
750 from bestway. Pours a cloudy orange with a big white head. Looks pretty appetizing. Ends up being a very dry slightly fruity and hoppy crisp smooth drink. Aroma is to toasty grain and grassy hops. Flavor is a little more full bodied. Some candy sweetness. Finish is slight bitter but clean grass hops dominate. Aroma has some grape and apple from the Chardonnay I assume. A decent drink but not my preferred set of flavors. DrSilverworm (9671) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - MAR 13, 2013
Sample from a 750ml bottle. Imperial pils aged in wine barrels? This certainly must be the most exotic pils I’ve ever had. Hazy golden yellow color. Minimal off-white head, though it leaves good even spread of dotty lace. Malty, old-hop nose. Some ripe fruit. Medium to bigger body. Light, smooth carbonation. Nice sweet taste, kind of musty, little wood evident. Kind of tastes more like an ale than a lager. Very sweet, much less bite than any other imperial pils I’ve had. Kind of like somewhere between a saison, a belgian golden, and an old IPA... Aged in a chardonnay barrel. Interesting, and definitely very unique stuff. Thanks greatly to the group for sharing this phaleslu (10553) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - SEP 16, 2014
750 ml bottle via NC trade - thanks again, John! 2012 vintage, acquired in 2013, opened in 2014. Pours a clear gold with a small white, wispy head. Notes of oak, pale and sweet and biscuit malts, corn, straw, grass, mild spice, and dried fruit. Light-medium bodied, with a sweet, malty mouthfeel and moderate carbonation. Virtually no chardonnay character (left?) but plenty of oak. Imperial pilsners aren’t my thing to begin with, but this one was not bad. I wish I’d opened it fresher; may have liked a more wine-influenced one better. GT (10002) - San Diego, California, USA - MAY 21, 2012
750mL shared at Berliner Bash. Low haze deep orange pour with creamy foam and medium lace. Sticky orange nose. Slick bourbon like taste with sharp grassy hops. Tangy and bitter palate. Mild stickiness and bourbon laden toffee. Not too bad. Thick and heavier.

750 mL bottle courtesy of Kinz at the 19th Richmond Ratebeer Gathering. Pours a clear copper color with a thin frothy off-white head. Decent head retention. Aroma of caramel, herbal notes, grapes. The taste is stone fruits, bread, grapes, bitter hop finish. Tannic and vinous, slightly astringent. Medium bodied. arkurzynski (2456) - Combined Locks, Wisconsin, USA - MAY 4, 2013
Bottle from JCB - thanks! Deep hazy amber to orange pour with frothy white head. Nose is mix of chardonnay, white grape, light oak, and yeasty bread dough. Some plastic-type/soapy hops. Flavor begins mildly sweet with biscuit/graham cracker that fades to a dry oaky chardonnay grape and moderate soapy/pine hopping. Dry, yeasty finish. This one worked fairly well, but was a little rough around the edges. burg326 (5596) - Florida, USA - NOV 4, 2013
Poured a dark yellow color from the bottle with aromas of hay, light honey and some grain Flavors are the same, grain and an alcohol aftertaste, and some hay. rbrazell (1698) - Florida, USA - FEB 14, 2014
Bottled shared at Proof. Hazy deep golden pour with a small bubbly white head. Aroma is sweet Saralee and honey maltiness with hints of apples and oak mans maybe some light Chardonnay. Flavor is similar and light with a astringent bitterness at the end. Very awkward and weird but not awful.
