2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Incredible orange pour fast fizzling head. Smells of farmy barn and thats about it. Initial taste is straw, bitter round imperial flavor quickly dissipating into dry long finish. Once is enough.
750 ml bottle via NC trade - thanks again, John! 2012 vintage, acquired in 2013, opened in 2014. Pours a clear gold with a small white, wispy head. Notes of oak, pale and sweet and biscuit malts, corn, straw, grass, mild spice, and dried fruit. Light-medium bodied, with a sweet, malty mouthfeel and moderate carbonation. Virtually no chardonnay character (left?) but plenty of oak. Imperial pilsners aren’t my thing to begin with, but this one was not bad. I wish I’d opened it fresher; may have liked a more wine-influenced one better. mattlong56 (3) - Lathrup Village, Michigan, USA - AUG 1, 2014 does not count
Nice heavy flavor with thicker ale like consistency rather than lager. Chardonnay aroma and taste notes are subtle but very Complimentary. arminjewell (9744) - East Lansing, Michigan, USA - APR 12, 2014
Pour out of 750 mL bottle, slightly hazy golden pour with white head, aroma brought notes of lots of biscuit, bread, hints of grain into some pine, grass, slight spicy, yeasty notes with a very slight touch of fruit. Taste had a mix of biscuit, dough, yeast into some grass, slight earthy notes into a hint of spice, some slight fruit, finishing fairly bitter, dry. tmongoose (2504) - Louisville, Kentucky, USA - MAR 16, 2014
bottle shared, poured a golden yellow with white frothy head. the aroma of malts, hops and sweetness from the chardonnay. the flavor was very good good crisp clean solid malt and hops with that sweetness from the wine I could have sipped on this for awhile. but alas it was on a taster. overall loved the blend and the crispness in the flavor. Bottle from Olde Hickory Station. Orange-gold with a white head. Aroma is wheat and lemon. Tastes are sweet bready malt, wood, grapey. Even dry finish. Estery. Light wine vibe. Had a sour right before this, so it took a while for this to come around. Decent enough. 7.2

Bottled shared at Proof. Hazy deep golden pour with a small bubbly white head. Aroma is sweet Saralee and honey maltiness with hints of apples and oak mans maybe some light Chardonnay. Flavor is similar and light with a astringent bitterness at the end. Very awkward and weird but not awful. burg326 (5662) - Florida, USA - NOV 4, 2013
Poured a dark yellow color from the bottle with aromas of hay, light honey and some grain Flavors are the same, grain and an alcohol aftertaste, and some hay. bytemesis (9621) - Sunnyvale, California, USA - JUL 19, 2013
Bottle - thanks JCB! Well this is an interesting one! First pour is clear, but hazy to cloudy after that. Nice butterscotch color with some fizzy off white head that leaves good lacing in its wake. Aroma is very grapey, honey, grass, grain. Flavor is the same, medium sweet, very vinaceous. Light bitterness initially, but it grows with drinking. Light astringence from the time in barrel. Medium body, flat carbonation, creamy mouthfeel. Lingering bitterness in the far finish. A very interesting beer and one I enjoyed drinking. Ratman197 (15750) - Arvada, Colorado, USA - MAY 21, 2013
