UPDATED: MAR 19, 2017 3/19/17: rerating this because this bottle was from 2011. dark brown to black pour with mocha head. the years have been kind to this one. solid roasted malt, chocolate and coffee flavors, mild alcohol mix. very nice and balanced start to finish.
draft poured opaque brown to almost black. coffee colored head. dark roasted malts and coffee in aroma and flavor plus chocolate and more coffee in the flavor. solid imperial but still kind of middle of the road which is fine gives good representation of style. demmbonz (732) - Erin, Wisconsin, USA - AUG 1, 2013

Brown/black pour with thick tan head and lace. Aroma is dark chocolate and roasted malt. Flavor is sweet cocoa, light coffee, and a nice malty bitter finish. Full body with nice smooth carbonation. Nice Reynolds314 (3441) - Connecticut, USA - JUL 13, 2013
This beer may suffer from the fact that it is a 10.5% imp stout drank on the 4th of July at the beach after eating 3 burgers. but man this was tough to finish. Huge syrupy sweet beer with a lot going on. Sweet caramel and big bold coffee and cocoa notes. Smooth but thick and sweet. Ernesto987 (6050) - Arizona, USA - JUL 4, 2013
big thick extra roasty stout, harsh and rough, so thick and ashy, a big strong bold stout.

Bottle 22fl.oz. @ ChrisO Snow Tasting.
Clear dark brown colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, chocolate, moderate coffee, ruff, light licorice. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, chocolate, roasted bitter, ruff, wood, dark chocolate. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.
Ed strikes again! A generous fellow. Aroma has lots of honey and very slight clove as a result, dark chocolate and raisin. Appearance is oily black with bubbly mocha head. Flavor matches the nose; a touch of smoke, and overall intense, deep and dry. Palate is medium, oily and pillowy soft. I thought this was excellent. Draft from Amos Howard’s. Pours black with an inch of thick khaki foam. Some chocolate roast notes on the nose. Lots of roasted malt on the tongue. I get a touch of the honey as well both in terms of sweetness but also a slight slickness in the mouthfeel. Alcohol is well hidden but gives off a nice warming feeling on the finish. Solid!
