1/6/15. 22oz bottle. Deep amber red brown pour with a nice tan head and mild lacing. Looks good! Rich aroma, some booziness popping through, caramel, figs, blueberry and grapes, and something that reminds me of cinnamon in a way. Burnt sugar and strawberry purée lead to light bitterness and caramel in this flavorful but rough Barley Wine.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A ring of foam surrounds the dark mahogany haze.
-Alcohol is well hidden throughout.
-The flavor profile is very fruity, which increases drinkability in this otherwise very sweet concoction.
-The soft carbonation makes the body feel heavier that it should be.

Bottle... Pours clear and brown with flashes of burnt orange and no head. The aroma is fruity, malty and estery - dates and fruitcake stand out. Full-bodied and oily with modest carbonation. The flavor is a malty mixture of singed caramel, crusted port, fruitcake, dates and toasted nuts. Leans a touch toward the bitter side of balance in the minerally finish. same label, but this batch was 9.6%. nice to have a flavorful, robusy barleywine that’s not 11-15%. well balanced abd excellent all around. a little earthy malt with a healthy dose of toffee and caramel. floral hops and pleasantly bittersweet in the finish.
