Irish Walker is brewed with six different malts and a blend of four classic hops. A long fermentation and cold aging makes Irish Walker a well rounded and complex Barley Wine. Irish Walker exhibits malty sweetness, fruity esters and malty balance. This ale will age well for years to come, or just enjoy now with good company. Cheers!

On tap at Olde Hickory. Pours a black color with white head. Syrupy, malty, dark fruits, very sweet flavors. A little too sweet and syrupy for me.

On tap @ Olde Hickory. Pours a brown / black appearance with a thin light brown head. Goopy, big molasses aroma. Some plum and dark fruits in there as well. Carbonation fairly low. Thick black licorice and molasses flavor. A bit of grape and plum. Not really boozy but very thick. Moderate to high sweetness.

That’s how we roll biotch! Amazingly dry. Smell sweet and sugary. Has an amazing flavor although a bit oxidized. Pale ruby color. 2012 is better at this point!

This was picked up at Triangle Wine in Southern Pines. The seal is Royal Blue, but the stamp on the bottle says 2013. It has a sweet aroma with a hint of raisin, figs, roasted malts. There is minimal head. It is a very dark brown with some clouding in the light. The taste definitely is warming with brown sugar, biscuit, roasted, raisin with a bit of sweetness to it. The alcohol taste is there, but not overpowering as with some other in this category. This is very good.

Full, but not heavy mouthfeel. Malty and oaky and sweet. Unusually dark for a barleywine. Outstanding!!! I would highly recommend even for people who have never tasted a barleywine before. This could be pleasant to most beer drinkers.

On tap at Ridgewood (Raleigh). Pours dark brown with a touch of head. Aroma carries a heavy malt component, which carries over int the taste. The flavors associated with barleywine don't seem to appear until the aftertaste. I'm not a fan of barleywines, but this is drinkable in small doses. Won't be tailgating with this one. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap at GABF 2013, had some sweet malty aroma and a similar taste, but was super dry.

22 ounce bottle waxed top, poured a reddish brown color with aromas of malt, caramel, sugar, light hops, and some molasses. Flavors are the same, mildly sweet up front with some molasses and light hops in the finish, nice beer overall.
