Aroma is light heavy malty, caramel, berry - fruity, light roasted. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a average to long duration, chocolate malt. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

Hazy red - brown beer, good pale tan head. Softish palate, a little fine carbonation. Lactose creamy malt with minor caramel and toffee Good balance of bitterish orange marmalade hops. Touch of peach. Mild aniseed alcohol. Decent.
Bottle at RBWG 2013 Grand Tasting. Pours clear amber, fine creamy head. Classic American barley wine, lots of bitter pine, some caramel. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Bottle shared by Paul at my house. Pours dark amber with off white head. Nose and taste of caramel malt, dark fruit, burnt caramel and burnt chocolate. Medium body.

Bottle shared by alexdado6. Poured clear reddish brown color with a moderate frothy off-white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate dark fruit, earthy and small caramel malt aroma. Medium to full body with a dry smooth texture and flat carbonation. Moderate dark fruit sweet flavor with a medium to heavy bittersweet finish of moderate duration. This is a complex good beer.

Served on draft at the brewpub on 4/7/11. Pours a slightly hazy reddish brown color with a medium sized creamy tan head. Good head retention and lacing. Aroma of toffee and citrus hops. Sample at the Blarney Wine tasting on 03/16/2013: Murky brown color with a medium beige head that dissipates quickly. Short strings of lace. Aroma of malt, grain and fruit. Full body with flavors of earthy malt, caramel and a touch of booze. The finish is slightly smoky with a malt and ripe fruit aftertaste. Decent overall.
