Bottle at a tasting - thanks, Kevin! Hazy dark brown color with minimal head. Aroma is molasses, roast, soy sauce, some old vegetal hop notes. Sweet and roasty flavor, lots of molasses, some bourbon. bomber to snifter pours a dark cloudy brown with very little head. you really have to work it to get any type of brownish head a slippery oily lacing that dissipates quickly. the nose consist of chocolate, ash, dark fruits, bourbon, oak, and alcohol. the flavor is like holy wow. chocolate, bourbon, ashy, dark fruits, oaks and alcohol. almost seems like a mishmash of flavors but all are distinguishable. pretty damn good overall for a barley wine. its not over the top just good. a great sipper. drfabulous (9015) - Lexington, Kentucky, USA - NOV 19, 2016
22 ounce bottle. Pours black with a carbonation that quickly fades. Big bourbon and tobacco notes. Lots. Booze. Sticky. Reminds me of Angel’s Share.

That’ll be me 20K then @ ChrisO’s. Thanks to Padraig. Almost opaque dark brown beer, small pale tan head. Mild fine carbonation. Good dark chocolate malts. Mild spice. Nice dark fruits, mildly bourbon soaked. Rich, nice.

Dark mahogany brown with a decent beige covering.
Nose is rich fruit cake, light tobacco leaves, spice, chocolate, raisenes, toffee.
Taste comprises rich dark fruits, sublte bourbon barrel, raisenes, dates.
Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a light boost.

Love some olde hickory but have missed a lot of the recent big beers that have come out. Glad to try this one at HMOG and it did not disappoint. Lots going on here but all working together well and very smooth. Bit of whiskey at first. Thick chewy malt body. Toasty grain, dark fruit. Nice. Bottle shared at Kenny’s 20K tasting - London. Many thanks to Paddy for this one! Pours brown-black with a creamy, tan head. The nose holds roasted malts, coffee grounds, toffee, semi-dark fruits. Moderately sweet, boozy, with grainy malts, toffee and bitter earth. Medium to full bodied with fine to average carbonation. Warming finish with notes of toasted grains, more toffee, dried and ripe fruits. Pretty OK stuff overall.
