UPDATED: FEB 18, 2005 Nice and deep, true to the name, with some dark auburn highlights and a good sized off-white head. Aroma of toasted malts, crisp lager yeast, honey and light notes of chocolate. Flavor is rich and sweet, with light toasted malt sweetness, some hints of caramel and a clean, crisp lager finish, which didnt water down. The texture is smooth, bordering on creamy. Medium body, moderate carbonation. One of the better beers I tried while down in Knoxville and it’s impressive to see this style (sort of a Vienna/American Dark hybrid) being produced fairly well down here. Pours clear, dark amber-red with frothy beige head.
Caramel, chocolate scent.
Sweet, light, watery caramel malt flavor....
Nothing bad about this one, but it’s just too weak and watery for the style......no personality or depth.....
