Interesting nutty but clear bodied lager. I expected more of a reddish tint given the name of the beer, but it was a lovely brown pour with much more flavor than usual for a typical beer in this style. wilkie (1208) - Raleigh, North Carolina, USA - JAN 30, 2005
Draught. Good flavor just not enough of it. A light
version of an amber-like lager. The finish is fairly
crisp, and there is a fairly decent hop aroma. Rrauth (1196) - North Carolina, USA - SEP 14, 2013
Bomber. Let me preface this by saying I am not a lager fan. No aroma that I like. Nothing that tweaks my palate. Need t stop trying lagers.

12oz bottle. Pours a clear ruby caramel with a thin, off white head. Aroma has notes of caramel, toffee, slight traditional hops, and a hint of dark fruits. Taste is balanced with caramel, toffee, slight dark fruits, hints of roast and chocolate, and some hope bitterness at the end. Medium body and carbonation. Clean in the mouth with a dry finish. Overall fairly standard but done well. 00cobraR (1103) - Greensboro, North Carolina, USA - MAY 26, 2004
Nice red colored lager with a creamy thick head. Taste is lacking and I really like red lagers.

Draft sampler at the brewery. Another beer I could drink all night. Nice smooth malt flavor. Onenote81 (1002) - Winston-Salem, North Carolina, USA - APR 30, 2012
Originally reviewed: 5/9/11. Spent a day in the mountains with my family, and stopped in to MM in Blowing Rock for dinner and got this on-tap. This beer came out in a mason jar which was a nice little "mountain" touch. Was a dark ruby color with a small beige head on top. The nose was sweet with candied malts, floral tones, syrup.
Smooth and creamy mouth on this one. Really a mellow gulper. Nice sweet malty backbone with plenty of nutty flavor that I really liked. Caramel and toffee notes noted. This really was a refreshing beer to sip while waiting for my food. I definitely much preferred this on-tap to the bottle form. But this makes me want to revisit it for sure. Another solid offering from OHB. jhliesen (832) - West Melbourne, Florida, USA - DEC 3, 2011
Bottle---the pour finished with a large head. The color is a pale brown with lacing around the edge of the beer. Aroma was malt, caramel and sugar. The taste was the same with some candy like toffee, slight bitter taste in the finish. OK beer but it needs to get everything together to improve. Bomber. Clear, bight red color with a small white head. Touch of yeast and grain on the nose. Only a bit more malt sweetness than a pale lager and a similarly short finish. Not bad, but boring and not worth going back to. Wiseblood (700) - Clarksville, Tennessee, USA - DEC 14, 2004
Dark red with a good head. Malty-sweet aroma. Hints of brown sugar, but not much else. Mild, with a thin body and no aftertaste. Looks good, but not really interesting.
