Seven Devils- Our newest experiment with barrel aging. This time we brewed a delicious Scottish Ale (anyone remember our Nessies?) and aged it in bourbon barrels. Our brew master says "Its like drinking a candy bar." Notes of chocolate, caramel, and coconut blend with the caramal and roasty maltiness typical of Scotch Ales. Available on tap and in 22oz bottles. 8% abv

Bottle shared by jesterdeal at tasting at my place. Pours dark brown with tan head. Nose and taste of heavy bourbon, oak, baked bread, cocoa and molasses. Medium body. A bit too "hot" for my liking.

Bottle shared by b3shine. Poured a hazy dark reddish brown color with a moderate frothy tan head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Medium to heavy toasted malt, bourbon wood and earthy scotch aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium to heavy bourbon sweet flavor with a medium to heavy sweet finish of moderate to long duration. A smooth complex drinkable brew.

Bomber from Appalachian Vintner, Asheville. Pours a dark hazy bronze color with a thin tan head. Decent head retention. Big whisky aroma, booze, spicy wood, raisin and toffee. The taste is wood, raisin, whisky, toffee, booze, green apple, burnt sugar, toffee. Thin-medium bodied. Decent, but could use a lighter touch on the wood aging.

For some reason im not a resounding fan of all of this brewerys ba beers. It is a good beer but a tad sweet and unrefined to my palate.

22oz bottle, shared by brew3crew. Oh man, awesome bourbon barrel aroma in the nose. Some chocolate, butterscotch. Light roast malt, little dark fruit. Hazy dark brown / red color, lots of particles in the body. Minimal off-white head, just a couple dots of lace. Medium to bigger body. Smooth, kind of crisp, lighter carbonation. Lightly dry in the finish. Nice coconut flavors, especially through the finish, light caramel, vanilla bourbon. Moderate sweet taste, light bitter. Lightly spicy. Just a hint of a bite. A delicious way to do a scottish, definitely a treat. Thanks for sharing this, Jason!
