Poured from a 22oz bottle. Poured cola brown with about the same amount of head as a Dr. Pepper...almost none. The aroma is bourbon and caramel and just some hints of vanilla. Taste follows the nose with taste of chocolate, caramel, coconut, vanilla and rye. Really good. Very similar to Backwoods Bastard.

Bottle. No head. Seemed flat but it's not. Appearance is lacking but that's the bourbon. Love it. Tasty smooth. I want more. It smells like a chocolate bar and is awesome. Tastes like a smooth bourbon soda.

I really liked this one! I’ve had quite a few barrel aged brews now and this one was very drinkable! RABinCO (1511) - Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA - FEB 23, 2013
I’m not a fan of scotch ales, but this one has me believingevery one should be bourbon aged and i’ll love them! Pours deep cola with a tan head. Huge chocolate and vanilla and coconutty bourbon. Taste is the same, and it’s very smooth and sweet. Definitely a sipper. Delicious! daknole (11048) - Scottsdale, Arizona, USA - MAY 8, 2013
Medium brown colored pour, light tannish head. Flavors of sweet bourbon, but not overly barreled here. Vanilla, toffee, sweet oaky flavors, malty grains, honey cheerios. Nice brew.

You talkin about a bang for your buck! Cost only $7 for a 750mL bottle! It’s not as heavy as a stout, but the bourbon barrel is apparent throughout. Great taste of bourbon, vanilla, and coffee. None is overpowering, but definitely has a nice balance. timfoolery (1126) - California, USA - MAR 3, 2012
Bottle from Justin via trade. This one has an aroma and flavor which is straight-up vanilla/bourbon. If you’re a fan of bourbon-soaked beer, this one’s excellent. It approaches the likes of Backwoods Bastard...along the same lines.

Bottle. Brown pour with a decent non lingering head. Nose of malt, caramel, peat, and booze. Taste follows the nose with a nice smokey maltiness. Bourbon is there but not overwhelming. Very good stuff.

(bottle - 22 oz) Hazy copper pour with a creamy looking tan head. Aroma is very sweet and boozy. Lots of brown sugar and caramel malts with some light fruity notes. Toffee and caramel at the start of the flavor with an almost overpowering sweetness, but is balanced out near the end with a bourbon flavor and a nice and sweet vanilla aftertaste. Bottle. Thanks for sharing, daknole. Pours a clear caramel. Lovely boozy aroma with a ton of caramel malt and some coconut. Smooth caramel, vanilla, toffee, and light wood. Tastes like it has been sitting in the cellar for much longer than its actual age. Medium, mellow body.
