COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Event Horizon Imperial Stout is an incredibly rich and luxurious beer brewed with ten malts, local honey, and four American hop varietals before and extended aging in oak bourbon barrels. The result is a beer with many layers of complexity. As the name implies, with one sip you will be unable to turn back. This 2010 special release will age well for years to come, or enjoy now in good company. Cheers!

UPDATED: JUL 23, 2014 Bottle: Thanks, Jeff! Black, black body with just about no head on top, only a small, silky, light-tan ring that outlines the very edge. Aroma has notes of smooth bourbon, crazy amounts of vanillin & wood, sweet milk chocolates, roast, & a touch of maple syrup. I wasn’t getting much honey at first, but with some warmth (& perhaps the helpful power of suggestion), I can pull some lightly sweet honey notes from the back-end. Taste is complete with lots of dark, bittersweet chocolate, light & smooth bourbon soaked oak, vanilla, toasty brown sugar, a touch of licorice, aggressively roasted malt, burnt toffee, molasses, & a honeycomb-like, semi-sweet mouth coating in the aftertaste. A very, very tasty imperial stout... Feels more "robust" than 8.5% ABV, but never gets too bourbon forward or hot at any time. Pleasure to drink this one.

UPDATED: NOV 2, 2016 Thanks Jack for sharing bottle! Poured into a wineglass showing pitch black and no head. The nose shows moderately intense honey, maple, and molasses. The palate is subtly carbonated and thick bodied. Flavors of light molasses and honey. Mid palate of light nuts with a light alcohol spiciness. Finish is a latte bitterness with more maple and honey on the linger.

Vaporous, delicious bourbon malt aroma. Not pitch black, clear Good bomber, label. Woody, bourbon, vanilla, moderately sweet, raisiny. Leans boozy, but pleasantly so. Oily mouthfeel, finishes a bit too alcoholic and ragged. Thanks to someone at Proof.

Bottle 65 cl. Pours pitch black with a light brown head. Very sweet vanilla aroma from the Bourbon. Rich, sweet malty body, very subdued roastiness, palate is almost velvety due to the low carbonation. Sweet vanilla and Bourbon throughout. Candy in a bottle. 180816

very rich flavouful is. on the sweeter side. bourbon not overpowering the roast. while i thought the honey added thickness and preserved flavour over 4 years i still am skeptical about the use if honey and syrup.subdued hop despite ageing promise.

Shared at Craft Ale. Poured hazy black with tan head. Nose was oaky bourbon, dark malt, cacao, anise, molasses. Tasted rich, with big malt, heavy oak, vanilla, bourbon, black licorice, and late honey. Great beer.
