3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap in the brewhouse at Olde Hickory. A really great place if you ever get the chance to visit. Unfiltered and dry-hopped. Pour is a cloudy orange with a persistent, off-white head. Aroma of soft, citrusy hops, hints of light berry (English yeast) and biscuity malt. The flavor is more of the same, with the maltiness really shining through and just enough hop flavor to balance it out perfectly. Hints of caramel and toast in there too. A really great session beer. Low on the hop bitterness, making for a very smooth body and flavor, showcasing excellent balance and English character.
Draft - pours orange white head - nose and taste of caramel and bready malt - medium body hman43 (1726) - Pinehurst, North Carolina, USA - SEP 13, 2015

Served on cask at Olde Hickory Station. Very smooth. A classic esb flavor and finish. nearbeer (5521) - Knoxville, Tennessee, USA - DEC 7, 2013
650 ml. Light haze on the orange-amber body with a lasting thin meringue on top. Rich nose of spicy dark toffee and earthy florals are cut nicely by a light citrus zest. Tastes of dark toffee, vanilla and spicy-sweet pollen are moderated by toast, roasted parsnip, light orange zest and a delicate woody-hop finish. Medium body has a nice balance and low-average carbonation. Excellent take on this often mistreated style. Rrauth (1196) - North Carolina, USA - SEP 15, 2013
I've enjoyed this beer. Malt body and nice bitter taste. Very nice esb. Try it.

Draught in a flight. Pours a mostly clear amber color with a small head. Nose was a little bitter and smelled a bit of the classic English-style hops. Taste is a little bitter, but has a nice malty background to balance it out. Onenote81 (1002) - Winston-Salem, North Carolina, USA - JUL 11, 2012
Had on tap at the OHB Tap room recently. Came out a dark honey orange with a small cap on top. Nose carried some vegetable scent, noble hops, grass. Crisp, mouth with moderate carbonation. Mild bitterness with dry character. Subtle fruit-like sweetness pulls through. This is a balanced bitter beer, that pared really well with my burger. Sorry I’ve passed over this one for so long. I may have to grab a few bottles now.
