Southern Pale Ale is the perfect blend of two row and three other varieites of caramel malts. Balanced with the floral and citrus notes from Centennial and Golding hops. Pairs well in any weather.

16 ounce can thanks to John. Pours a dull malty aroma and taste. Dusty and without much going on.

Poured from a 1 pint can, nice caramel/copper color with a thin head. Slight hop aroma, a bit thin, but you do catch some of the cascade hops bite at the finish. Smooth, easy to drink pale ale, but light for the style. Great beginners entry beer for those exploring the pale ales. W

Deep copper body under a tall, off-white head. Aroma of sweet malt and faint hops. The flavor is light sweet malt balanced by a subtle hop bitterness. Thye flavor is not bad, but lacks enough hop flavor and aroma to be in the Pale Ale category. Good body. Drinkable enough, just not much of a pale ale.

Faint aroma of citrus.... But very faint. Nice amber color. Sweet Carmel malt first. Uneven bitterness next. Finish is a nice balance of sweet and bitter.

Not a horrible beer. But no head. No hop aroma. Slight bitter on tongue. Not bad for a general beer very malty. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Growler from Liqour express - this is not very true to style. Very malty with some citrus/tropical fruit notes. Dry finish. I kind of like it, but not what I was expecting from a pale ale.

Draft from liquor express. Pours brown with a white head. Not much on the nose. Very malty on the tongue. I can almost taste the shovel scraping along the concrete from the malt house. There’s a smidge of lemon as well. Underwhelming.

Ole Shed’s Down South Southern Pale Ale is by far one of my favorite microbrews tasted to date. So excited this beer is coming Huntsville, AL soon. If you live in the Tennessee Valley area and haven’t tried this beer yet, do yourself a favor and find out where you can get some!
