’January 8th’ ale is brewed with Maris Otter Pale Malt from The famous Branthill Farm in North Norfolk and a little Munich Malt, which gives it a good malt flavour with a little caramel and roast in there too. It also has a fruity taste with some nice bitterness coming through and with a colour of around 22 EBC’s. Golding hops and Saaz hops have been added to give the ale a nice fruity aroma and a good balance of around 30 EBU’s.

Garrold (5273) - Sheffield, South Yorkshire, ENGLAND - JUL 30, 2014
Bottle from Bakers and Larners of Holt, Norfolk. Murky gold. Barely a head. Sweet, orangey malt. Not a lot else, maybe a hint of hop. Taste is light sweet. Palate is thin. Finishes dry, then soapy sweet.

Splitenz (370) - Oslo, NORWAY - MAY 27, 2014
Didn’t enjoy this. Off putting sweetness, bland and unfresh with a blood flavoured metallic finish. Hops were fairly well placed though.

swooper (1247) - Cambridge and Kladno(Czech Rep.), Cambridgeshire, ENGLAND - OCT 14, 2012
bottle, good hoppy aroma really european one from our hops, pale to golden colour , head with big bubbles falling quickly down, not such taste as i expectet, quite blank empty drink, light sweetness, lightly bitter, light body, thin feel, disapointed not worth 2,80 or how much it was in farm/beer shop

dogbomb (1217) - ENGLAND - OCT 14, 2012
Bottle. Hazy yellow ale with a thin white head. Nose is spicy and sweet bubblegum and sherbert. Taste is light, quite watery and carbonated with more sherbert sweetness and maybe a touch of light lemon. Comes across light a flavoured lager, and I’d prefer a little more body. Refreshing though.

StueyD (1583) - Heacham, Norfolk, ENGLAND - APR 6, 2012
Very hazy golden orange coloured beer with a thickish white head. Floral, slightly soapy aroma, and hints of fruit, hoppy. Fizzy mouthfeel. Dry taste, pleasantly bitter to start, dry malty flavours with a hint of floral hop, but the aftertaste is sour, citrusy, almost metallic and quite harsh in the finish. Bottle, purchased from The Real Ale Shop, Wells-next-the-Sea, Norfolk.

FatPhil (16102) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - JAN 25, 2012
Cask (CWAF2012, Sat)
Sweet, blandish malts, a touch husky. Dull, and at best adequate.

omhper (25128) - Tyresö, SWEDEN - DEC 27, 2011
Bottled at chriso’s. Hazy pale golden, brief head. Yeasty orange aroma. Sweetish with clean, rounded mouthfee. Yeasty flavours dominate. Slight resiny bitterness.

oh6gdx (26488) - Vasa, FINLAND - DEC 6, 2011
Bottled. Golden colour, small off-white head. Aroma is wood, some floral notes and some mild maltyness. Flavour is rather the same, which is quite floral notes and some fruity notes as well.

sm89walt (2065) - Sydney, AUSTRALIA - NOV 27, 2011
Cask - The Kings Head, Norwich. Small, loose & bubbly white head; clear golden body. Citrus, apple & yeast aromas. Apple, caramel & yeast on the tongue too. Light to medium body, soft palate texture, soft bitterness with a lingering tang. OK but p’raps towards the end of the barrel, I’d wager.

Ungstrup (37605) - Citizen of the universe, DENMARK - NOV 7, 2010
Bottled. A hazy dark golden beer with a thin orangey head. The aroma has notes of fruit, malt, caramel, and flowers. The flavor is very sweet with strong notes of fruti combined with medium notes of flowers, leading to a dry and spicy finish.
