This reddish beer releases a strong malty perfume when it hits the glass. The flavours awaken the tongue with a sharp sourness of wild cherries followed by a warming spicy back flavour which then softens and hints of blackberries. The perfect winter warmer this beer and would drink well with a steak & ale pie and would even drink nicely with a rich plum pudding or a traditional rich suet treacle pud!!

Bottle. Very good, sour, tart, vinous, blood, cherry. this is a wonderful take on a Belgian red/sour, perhaps, lacking the body and complexity of the best, but very tasty, soft and round. Nice stuff. I’m very happy with this.

Hazy amber beer. Ghost of a white head. Crispy palate, semi dry. Indeed a Flemish Red but somewhat watered down. Not sure why - it’s got the basic flavour but lacks the intensity. Mildly sour red beer!

Hazy ruby amber with red wine vinegar and caramel. gentle sourness, quite fruity, long acetic burnt caramel finish.

Cask (gravity) - Norwich Beer Festival 2011. Poured a hazy, ruddy copper brown with a fine, medium sized white to off-white head. Sharpish cherry, apple and oak aromas. Weaker & slightly more muted flavour-wise but the cherry & apple notes remain in place. A touch watery really given the style & ABV. Light to medium body, fairly spritzy on the palate with a medium length woody, fruit skin bitterness & lingering tang.

Bottle form Beers of Europe. Mahogany pour with a light pink head which soon varnishes like an old oak table. Sour fruit nose with a splash of strawberry and raspberry. Sweet/sour flavours of berries. Good balance. Very good interpretation of the style. Dry, sour finish. Quite nice.
