øbehavnske Øldage. Lots of different flavours in here. Mocha, chocolate, licorice, oak. MOuthfeel is full, and the flavour is quite long, with a nice combiantion of roasted malt and wood in the finish. Lots of flavour in this one.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap at Cph Beerfestival. As black as you can get it, with a dark brown head. Lovely aroma of vanilla, coffee, chocolate and some roasted malt. It starts off roasted in the mouth, followed by coffee, vanilla and fruityness. Creamy, full body and a long dry, coffee-like finish with hops. Nice beer! (060519)

Draught. Nice powerful aroma, roasted, with some aroma hops. Black colour, very small dark brown head. OK powerful flavour, roasted with a bit of liquorice. Good bitterness, seems to come from roasted barley. Creamy mouthfeel, a little thin.

Cask @ Copenhagen Beer Festival 19 May 2006
Wow, this is something! Full of all you can expect from an oak aged stout with woodsiness, vanilla, burboun, chocolate, coffee etc. Big filling taste. And all that at a "modest" 6%. I want more!

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Black with a light brown head. Wodden aroma, distinct oak. Complex bitter sweet flavour with a slightly acid finish. Promising idea, but with too much oak as it is.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Draught. 2005 vintage. Pitch black with a medium-sized creamy mocha head. The aroma has scads of vanilla beans, coffee, and chocolate roast. Astringent yeastiness, very rich vanilla, raw coffee, and silky chocolate but in no way is this over the top. Possibly my first oak beer that I can consider a session beer. So balanced with a monstrous amount of flavour. Superb stuff. I wonder when I’ll ever have this again. Sampled at the Københavnske Øldage 2006 on May 20, 2006.
