[Draught at Købehavnske Øldage] Dark black, creamy head. Rich coffee aroma. Dryish and smooth. Tar competes with coffee for domination. Solidly malty, but towards the finish it turnsh somewhat harsh and inky. In my opinion Ølfabrikken makes other beers that are far better. Katboi (16) - DENMARK - APR 12, 2008
Can. Black beer with a creamy head.
i sense Liquorice, roasted malt and heavy in mouthfeel, a bit unbalanced but good at it’s price. NosirIwont (2572) - Husum, DENMARK - APR 30, 2008
Bottle. – 7/4/6/4/12. Pours pitch black with a big, but diminishing, brown head. Some lacing. Roasted aroma. Remote notes of vanilla and chocolate. Flavour is sweet and roasted. A bit cloying. Finish is bitter with roasted notes. Slightly oily palate. A well made porter, but not too exciting. 01-05-08.Plimmer (252) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - MAY 21, 2008
Can. – 6/4/5/4/10. Pours pitch black with a big, creamy brown head. Nice lacing. Roasted aroma with smoked and slight notes of coffee at first. As it warms it develops a sour touch; a bit like a urinal, but not in an all together bad way. Flavour is roasted and sour. Cloying. Finish is slightly bitter and sour with roasted notes in the background. The bitterness lingers. Not that great – only individual aspects make up for an otherwise mediocre beer. 01-05-08.
Rated the bottle and can versions against each other. They were quite different; can had better head/lasted longer. Very different aromas, flavours and mouth feel as well. But neither are worth the hype imo.
Can 33cl. Pitch black body with a nice large brown head. Lots of roasted malt in the nose. Roasted malt, cofee, chocolate and licorice dominates flavour. Very bitter finish. piscator34 (2621) - Winnipeg, Manitoba, CANADA - JUN 14, 2008
Bottled sample via boutip (I think),and shared with oakbluff. Black in colour with low to moderate carbonation. Very vineous aroma, with lots of oak char, chocolate, syrah grapes, and some tar. I think we must have had an off bottle, as this one was quite sour in the mouth. Some chocolate and roasted malts were evident, but any residual caramel sweetness that might have been there was totally gone. Some grape and stewed fruit notes were present. Still quite drinkable, even though it was infected/soured.

INteresting, thought it was going to be a fake success but it was real good even though it was over reccomended temperature. 50belair (3680) - Florida, USA - SEP 8, 2011
Bottle. Brown pour with tan head. Roasted malt aromas. Dark bitter roasted malts, brewer’s liqourice, better coffee. A little disappointing after all the hype.. RABinCO (1511) - Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA - MAR 28, 2013
Bottle from Puddintane. Think it’s from 09/2007? Pours viscous black with no head. Light brown lacing. Small aroma of mostly just roasted malts, a little coffee and chocolate. Taste is somewhat oxidized dark roasted malts, bittersweet chocolate. Good amount of brown sugar. Probably better when fresh. chmurarz (647) - Legnica POLAND, POLAND - SEP 15, 2009
really nice head, lacing, off brown, just like porter should have the body is black. Aroma is of roasted and burned malts. stoutish coffie aroma without caramel sweetness, (ok, maybe some), taste is very dry and bitter, smoked, dense taste, after first dry and smoked sips it goes more smoothly but still every tate you feel the strong smoke (cigarette, cigar smoke), smells factory hehe fobar (241) - Søgne, NORWAY - APR 14, 2010
Tap at Cardinal. very dark brown body with see-brown head. Taste of chocolate and roasted coffee.
