4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle from Bert. Ive wanted to try this one for a while, and since it finally has hit the states, I got my chance. Let me also explain that I do like my porters in a shaker / pint glass...this is not a beer for that kind of glass, do not make the same "mistake" I did. Pours out a dark black color with a brown head on it. Smell is full of roasted and coffee and chocoalte flavors. A light fruity smell is noted as well. Taste is super thick, rich, and basically the equivilent of drinking motor oil. It is full of chocolate and coffee flavors. God, this is such a good beer. Is it a porter? I dont really know about all that. Shit, this should be a new style of beer. I do know that any future bottles I have of this will be drank from a snifter. Took me about an hour to drink the 500ml bottle. Great beer, but not what I was expecting of a porter. Reminds me of the Barley Johns Dark Knight Returns, only thicker. I can still taste this thing, 10 hours after I drank it. Thanks for this one Bert.
vintage Bottle @ friends/DØE KIm. Appearance: clear black with powerful beige soapy head and lacing. aroma/taste: caramel, chocolate, coffee, light tar, light alcohol and dried fruits. Palette: strong roasted malty aroma, medium carbonation, medium to full body, average to notable sweetness, balanced by a medium to notable bitterness, average to long duration and an oily texture. Overall: excellent roasted porter - still good after all these years john44 (3420) - SW London, Greater London, ENGLAND - FEB 13, 2017
Bottle. Pours very dark brown, almost black. Dominant flavours are burnt/roasted malts, dark bitter chocolate, espresso coffee, burnt sugar and dark fruits. Rich, smooth and full-bodied. Rather oily and tary. Very salty. Underlying hop bitterness. Alcohol well disguised. Very long dry roast finish. Not for the faint hearted. Terrific Baltic Porter! martin00sr (4454) - Haderslev, DENMARK - DEC 9, 2016
Black, beige head. Aroma has licorice, coffee, cocoa-like boozy notes. Thick, creamy mouthfeel, almost chewie. Coffee, licorice and chocolate. Sweet with licorice bitterness and smooth, warming alcohol. 3 years past BBD but still (I guess) with all the flavours intact. Very nice. Thanks MiP. Bottle. Pours cloudy dark brown with airy tan head. Clear aroma of roast and chocolate, with roasty notes and touches of yeast. Bitter and roasty flavour with notes of coffee, chocolate and liquorice and touches of hops and malt. Lingering, roasty, coffeelike aftertaste with notes of hops. Well-balanced and delicious. Fantastic. A splendid BP! 3 years past the BBD and still going strong! TorbenJensen (1573) - Valby, DENMARK - OCT 14, 2015
Although a dark brown and very dense foam located close to the top of the thick coal-black porter. It hangs fat on the inside of the glass and reminiscent of an oily substance. The aroma is coffee and licorice, while the taste varies over dark bitter chocolate, lots of strong coffee and English licorice. It is a sovereign delicious porter.

From 22oz bottle to English pint. Pour is a black with minimal head. Nose is roasted malt, raisin, other fruits, light chocolate, coffee. Taste is medium bodied, mostly sour with hints of sweetness from the sugar. Finishes very crisp with a strong finish. Awesome porter Erzengel (9616) - Wuppertal, GERMANY - JUN 18, 2015
Sweetish-Malty beginning. Intense malty with a very sticky sweetish body. Hints of sourness, intense sweetish with roasty coffee-like aroma. Sweetish-malty aftertaste, fresh but sticky, intense. Nice! Camons (13385) - Hasselager, DENMARK - MAR 8, 2015

"Wish list brew from john. Loved the frosted and surprisingly choppy aroma. Licorice, chocolate, smoke...lots going on, and all very good. But not Wow good, so methinks 64th is a bit on the high side. teddybeer (4169) - Madrid, SPAIN - AUG 25, 2014
