COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Editor’s note: Brewed by Ølfabrikken at Het Anker, Mechelen, Belgium.

The heart of this beer is an aromatic yeast from the Ardennes region in Belgium fermented at very high temperature (>30 deg. C). This provides the beer with a range of interesting flavor and aroma components and leaves the beer bone dry as a true Saison should be. Even though the beer gets its inspiration from the Belgian Saison brews, it has its very own Danish character from the use of Chamomile flowers and freshly picked thyme giving the beer a discrete tea-like aroma and a nice fullness. High carbonation and light body makes this brew uniquely refreshing. Ølfabrikken Saison Kamille is of course unfiltered, unpasteurized and refermented in the bottle like all of our beers. Only available in 75 cl corked bottles.

Bottle. A light hazy orange beer with a big white head. The aroma is of wheat, spices, it´s floral with herbs, the taste is much the same, very plesant saison in a medium body with a dry finish.

Christian (13769) - Odense, DENMARK - JUL 1, 2007
Unclear orange with a disappearing white head. Malty aroma with leather and flowers. Full fruity flavour with a spicy pepper dry finish. I love that the chamomile is kept in the background as one nuance among many others.

Bottled. Cloudy golden, rich airy head. Light citric herbal aroma. Sweet with solid, rounded maltiness. A bit fruity with whispers of citrus and herbs. Rather gentle flavourwise. Interesting idea, well made, but not really in possession of that little extra that you so often get from this brewer.

UPDATED: JUL 19, 2007 Bottle, from Kolding Vinhandel. Muddy pale yellow with a big bubbly white head. Lots of lacing. Aroma has a weak chamomille, light fruityness (oranges) and generally sweet. Flavour is sweet, lightly vinious, loads of chamomille and other sweet spices. Complex and with a light carbonation. lending it a creamy feel.

Bottle. Hazy orange coloured with a white head. Fruity aroma of spices and yeast with notea of citrus. Flavour of fruits and spices with notes of yeast and chamomile and floral notes. Hoppy and light apicy finish. Nice, but saison is not my favorite style.

MPA (999) - Amager (form. Nørrebro&Aalborg), DENMARK - MAY 27, 2007
Bottle. Unclear golden with a nice white head. Sweet, yeasty aroma of spices and herbes. Also elements typical of witbier present. Flavour is sweet and herbal/spicy as one would expect, but maybe just a tad to sweet for a saison. Dry, slightly bitter finish. This would do well as a session beer. Though not a high rating, I’d definetely come back to this again.

Bottled. Pours out in a cloudy pale orange colour with a rich white foam. Yeasty aroma with touches of dried oranges, herbs, elder. Yeasty and orangey flavour with strong notes of herbs. Crisp finish of dried oranges, yeast, grass, herbs and orange-peels.
