Cloudy dark brown beer, frothy biscuit coloured head. Nose is of a strong barleywine. Taste follows the nose - dry and frothy with an extended bitter hop finish. Decent and tasty barleywine but over dry.

handbottle thanks to bu11zeye. this was an amazing looking beer. poured hazy amber/brown with an off-white to almost beige head that would not go away and left tremendous amounts of lacing behind. the aroma was beyond anything i could ever imagine. i was only able to pick out may 1/3 of the scents. i picked up caramel, plum, brown sugar, cinnamon, and dark fruits. the flavor was not as impressive but great none the less. flavor was caramel, brown sugar, dark fruits, and some spices. medium body with low carbonation. i believe this may be the best beer i have ever had. Handbottle thanks to bu11zeye, marked with 65j. Pours with a large, tan head and a hazed amber body. Aroma of raisins, cherry, plum, toffee, chocolate, light alcohol, and dank Simcoe hops. Taste is earthy with a lot of caramel, light herbal hops, alcohol, dark fruits, raisins, and a good bitterness. Light bubbles and dryish for the style. Tastes like a good Barley Wine to me. Lumpy (1802) - Carrollton, Texas, USA - MAY 14, 2009
Bottle. Body-hazy medium brown with a thin film of bubbles and a medium ring of bubbles. Nose-honey, fresh crushed malts, straw, figs. Taste-hot dog water, sucking on a straw broom, pickles. jonas (7581) - Garching b. München, GERMANY - OCT 30, 2008

Pine, grass, peach.
Medium to light body.
Very nice. Ughsmash (7508) - Pewaukee, Wisconsin, USA - JUL 28, 2008
Many thanks to Rene for the bottle, 375mL corked and caged. Poured clear, deeper garnety-brown with a tall cap of well-retained tan head.. rising carbonation and sticky, intricate lacing.. beautiful! The aroma jumped out of the glass with vibrant notes of pine, grapefruit, and what must’ve been alcohol-infused beets.. toasty caramel and some molasses backed it up.. prickly beets tickle the nose hairs on the back. The flavor had a syrupy foray with caramel, molasses, and chocolate.. surrounded by heavy, scratchy, lingering bitterness comprised of pine tar, dark fruit, and a pinch of citrus.. the beet sugar was more apparent on the back-end.. finished with more beet and caramel sweetness and more-than-ample juicy citrus bitterness. Heavier-bodied and syrupy on the palate, but it had enough carbonation to cut through and provide balance.. the hops steal the show, but are unnecessarily abrasive at times.. all-in-all a tasty and challenging beer!
