The foam is nice and long and smells really good fruit (plum, raisin and peach). The taste is slightly vinous without being too heavy and very fruity of the aforementioned fruits, while in the taste also get a hint of pineapple. Easy chocolate in the aftertaste, which incidentally is quite bitter left. Precisely the lack of hop bitterness clothes this ale tremendously well. It seems very appropriate for the sweet fruit tones from the outset presented to them. Japalo (1887) - DENMARK - JUL 1, 2012

very nice sweet, hoppy and spicy aroma. pine, honey, faint dark fruits. a little barley wineish cellary note.
flavor is caramelly sweet, spicy (pepper, anise), raisins, dark fruits, strong. alc blends well into the strong flavor. great brew. barley wine meets ipa meets belgian ale. tasty!
