750 ml bottle stored for 15 months prior to serving. Deep dark maroon with medium beige head that settles to a thin layer and nice lacing. Dark chocolate aroma with berries and light spice, possibly cinnamon. Flavor begins with sweet chocolate with a bitter cocoa edge, dark fruit, and vanilla. Nicely complex. Great body, exactly as expected for a winter brew. Worth seeking out. Laying it down for a season mellows it quite a bit.

Bottle from my brother as a gift shared with a friend what a dumb ass I was,2005 vintage so I really didn’t know how this one was going to be,well to my surprize this one aged into a gem poured dark brown thick tan head with a nose of vanilla, honey, cofee and chocolate taste was of a sweet vanilla honey with coffee and chocolates coming to the party in my mouth late this one was a very big surprize I thought it could have been past its prime but it just stood up to time and shined like a rock star I am reccomending this one very strongly

Beer is from 2005 and i cannot believe it. It tastes more like an imperial stout than a porter. The differences between this beer and the standard porter (which i love ) is the honey and more bubbly mouth feel in this than the standard porter. Wonderful

It was good of Akevitt to share this rare beer. Grain and alcohol in the aroma, along with lager yeast. Lots of malt in the flavor, as well as red wine. Very vinous with teh character of a Baltic porter. Very well done. A thick, sticky beer. I wish I could get this again. Thanks Jason.

Another really good beer from Olfabrikken. Bottle from Jesper at RBSG 08. Sweet, malty and a little smokey and peaty aroma. Very good.

2005 Bottle shared with FunkyBrewster. Complex aroma, extremely leathery, smokey sausage but kind of salty like a salami, generously oxidized hops, deeply roasted malts, dark creamy chocolate, touch of plums and fruit. Pours very thick near black with a small fine tan froth. I can’t believe how strongly hopped this stuff is, tons of oxidation on both the malts and hops, lightly tart smokey salty sausage first taste, very leathery, super dried out, dark bitter-sweet chocolate, woody, no signs of coffee like in the regular porter, however it is over 3 years old, still some signs of citrus from the hops. Dry finish. This stuff reminds me quite a bit of Bell’s 7000 both in the aroma and flavor. Full bodied creamy with very small fizzy carbonation. Despite all its awkwardness, its very complex, and somehow it works and is enjoyable.
