Another old rating. Aroma is a lot of chocolate and roastiness. Flavor was smooth but a palate was a little thin. Left a great after taste in the mouth. KimJohansen (10498) - Frederiksberg C, DENMARK - JUN 8, 2009
Black with amedium deep beige head. Sweet aroma with burned malt, chocolate and coffee notes. Flavour was sweet with burned malt, chocolate, coffee and vanilla. Very vinious and blanced. Master piece! MaltOMeal (1094) - Land of Sugar, Texas, USA - FEB 18, 2009
swingtop bottle thanks to Papsoe. Pours dark as crude oil with a nice brown head and although it dissipated for the most part, it left some around the rim and created some good lacing. Nose is of chocolate and roast malt. Taste of chocolate and slight licorice. Very thick mouthfeel with a little chalkiness. Very good. motelpogo (8031) - Plzen, CZECH REPUBLIC - DEC 28, 2008

Loads of roasted malts, moccha and black currant aroma. Pitch black, brown firm head, good lace, pours very thick like oil. Sweet, bitter, roasted malts, coffee, vanilla twigs, milky, light lactic. Full and soft mouthfeel. Well balanced, very complex yet very pleasant. Wow!
Bottle brought to toncatcher’s tasting. Nice roasted malt flavor with coffee and chocolate notes. Aromas were a nice lead in with some bitter dark chocolate aromas. Good godd stuff. padrefan98 (854) - (San Diego) Santee, California, USA - OCT 31, 2008
Thanks to fordest for sharing this retired gem poured from 500 ml swingtop bottle. Creamy, roasted malts and chocolate with a fair amount of hops to balance this very nice stout. cgarvieuk (26387) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - AUG 23, 2008
Bottle at home ... very light watery nose with a little malt ... Very odd malt flavour ... light chocolate ... light carbonation Rogueone (506) - I F&ckin’ hate those guys from, Ohio, USA - AUG 12, 2008
Bottle: Dark pour with a bubbly tan head. Some smoked character to this one aroma-wise, alcohol is very present in the nose. Flavor is much more smoked than I can handle, soy sauce - salty quality to it overtop weak chocolate malt. Drinkable for those that enjoy this flavor- - not my thing. badbeer (434) - Iowa, USA - JUL 5, 2008
Black with a tan head and spotty lacing. Smell was roasty, it also had caramel, maple syrup, and burnt wood. Taste also had maple syrup, caramel, and chocolate, but the taste had a lot more roastiness than the aroma. Medium carbonation with light body. Pretty drinkable beer, thanks to iowaherkeye for sharing.
