Appearance: clear caramel brown, one finger of light, fizzy, tan head, minimal lacing. Aroma: light nose, with caramel, brown bread, and toffee. Taste: nutty, slightly sweet caramel malts, with earthy, mellow hops. Finish: smooth, slightly bitter. Notes: Easy drinking for a 7+% abv beer, with nice, slightly sweet and nutty malt flavors. Pretty good brown ale.

Tap. Pours clear brown with average, creamy beige head; good retention and some lacing. Aroma is caramel and toasted malts, figs, dates, floral hops, and oranges. Flavor is sweet malt forward with a heavy dose of fruit and some light hops towards the finish for a touch of bitterness; dry finish. 20110305 tap at PSA. Hazy dark caramel color with lasting tan head of soft froth. Gorgeous, complex, rich stuff with a host of nut, cocoa, and dark yeasty bread flavors and aromas. Sturdy stuff. Damn nice winter warmer type thing.

Growler thanks to scraff. Poured a clear brown with decent head and nice retention. Aroma is buttery ganache, heavy milk chocolate and caramel. Taste is dry, sharp, nutty bitter.
