Light aroma. Goldish color with decent head. A run of the mill pale in my consideration. ryan (3186) - Beltsville, Maryland, USA - NOV 29, 2007
Clear dark amber body with a small creamy off-white head. The nose is lightly sweet and vinous with caramel and plum. The flavor is lightly sweet with spicy herbal hops, raisins and brown sugar. Medium/full body is soft with moderate carbonation and a warm finish. keepersj12 (3117) - Sicklerville, New Jersey, USA - JUN 8, 2009
Very well done. Nice dark amber with a good head. Aroma of malt, hops, maybe some nuttiness in there. Flavor is sweet malt with a nice hop balance. Dry finish. lithy (2996) - Capital of Appalachia, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 12, 2011
Brown-orange, white head. Aroma is caramel, toast. Taste is toast, bitter, woody, caramel. MadRobin (2988) - Silver Spring, Maryland, USA - MAY 3, 2015
On cask at The Ale House Columbia.
Clear, dark mahogany wins thin, creamy tan head and excellent lacing.
Aroma of booze, butterscotch, licorice, red grapes and a little roasted malt.
Taste of booze, butterscotch, nuts, floral hops, red grapes, licorice and roasted malt. This has a reasonable complex, but not especially pleasant taste.
Full/medium body and low (cask) carbonization.

Pours a finger and half of head on a dark brown body.
The aroma is dark dry grains.
The taste is caramel, muted apricot sweetness, molasses with a long tingle finish.
The texture is crisp and fizzy.
It has great flavor. kwoeltje (2233) - Manchester, Missouri, USA - APR 14, 2007
(draught at Wharf Rat Fells Point) Dark brown with hints of red. Sweet malt aroma. Flavor is roast malt, not as sweet as aroma, caramel. boto (2210) - Granby, Connecticut, USA - DEC 28, 2007
Draught in Inner Harbor location: This one pours a clear, light brown color. There was a small off-white head on it. The aroma was a bit milder than expected. There was some caramel malts, as well as a touch of nuttiness. The taste is a bit better. It has a rich, malt taste. There was some nuttiness, as well as some fruits in the background. Not sweet at all. Smooth and well balanced. Nice. gsmitty80 (2130) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 20, 2013
Way too much anise for my taste. Albeit i didnt read the description and wasnt ready for it i just thought it was very one dimensional. I think i also had it on cask.
