(draught at Wharf Rat Fells Point) Dark brown with hints of red. Sweet malt aroma. Flavor is roast malt, not as sweet as aroma, caramel.

blipp (9691) - La Mesa, California, USA - NOV 10, 2013
Draft. Pours brown with an off white head. Toffee sweet malts, light earthy notes, and a bready malty and toffee sweet finish. Not bad.

Can from Beer and Wine. Dark caramel body with medium, receding head. Nose is oaks, toffee and caramel. Taste is hops intermingled with roastier notes, of malts, caramel and resin. Buttery finish. Enjoyable.

kramer (6905) - Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 5, 2017
Can. Pours a clear light brown body with a small fizzy beige head that faded to a wispy covering. Some light clingy lace. The nose is toasty and slightly sweet chocolate malt with a light leafy hoppiness. The flavor is indeed on the sweeter side with some toasted and chocolate malts, and a caramel note. A light bitterness on the finish from the leafy hops. Medium bodied and a little clingy with fizzy carbonation. An ok beer, probably wouldn’t make it a regular drinker.

hopscotch (11236) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - MAY 28, 2006
Nitro... Mostly clear, deep amber ale with a, mid-sized, creamy, eggshell head. Malty, vineous aroma and flavor. A bit sweet and alcoholic. Toffee, vino sherry and a hint of butterscotch. Decently bittered, but the nitro eliminates much of the character of both the nose and taste. Medium to full-bodied with a creamy mouthfeel and light carbonation. Finishes a little sweet.

On tap. Poured a dark brown/amber with a small off-white head. Aroma is grassy with lots of spice. Taste is very spicy with some good caramel flavors. Some citrus with malts and nuts. Too much carbonation. I would have enjoyed this more, but I thought there were too many spices that detracted from the other good flavors.

Light aroma. Goldish color with decent head. A run of the mill pale in my consideration.

Cask. Smooth, light brown, medium ale. Very soft carbonation due to cask. Nice drinkable ale.

3.2
MadRobin (2988) - Silver Spring, Maryland, USA - MAY 3, 2015
On cask at The Ale House Columbia. Clear, dark mahogany wins thin, creamy tan head and excellent lacing. Aroma of booze, butterscotch, licorice, red grapes and a little roasted malt. Taste of booze, butterscotch, nuts, floral hops, red grapes, licorice and roasted malt. This has a reasonable complex, but not especially pleasant taste. Full/medium body and low (cask) carbonization. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

nimbleprop (8750) - SouthWest, Washington, Washington DC, USA - DEC 29, 2016
On tap at Wicked Bloom DC pours a dark orange with some sudsy, white head. Nose is OK, yeast, some booze, toffee, butterscotch. Flavor has butterscotch, orange peel, some booze, malt. Finishes off dry and full bodied.
