20101011 This was actually a cask of Oak Aged 3 Lions Ale at Max’s. Woody and strong butterscotch. Soft palate with coating vanilla and lingering alcohol. Strong stuff, nicely done and I can deal with the diacetyl DJMonarch (9179) - Northwich, Cheshire, ENGLAND - AUG 26, 2010
Cask Stillage at the GBBF, Earl’s Court 03/08/2010 (As Olivers 3 Lions Aged With American White Oak)

Deep reddish amber colour with no head. Aroma is fruits, some vanilla and mild wooden notes. Also has some stingingly sweet notes and mild alcohol. Flavour is similar, and rather alcoholic sweet stinging. Yet the wooden notes give it atleast some kind of balance.

CASK at BSF GBBF 2010 ... dark brown ... odd medicinal melon nose ... ah its fresh oak... its much fresher than most oak beers... like walking though an oak wood ... soft toffee very oaky ... juicy and quite unusual ... i like the fresh oak. dnstone (3485) - Kansas City, Missouri, USA - AUG 8, 2010
Difficult to distinguish the aroma. Brownish color. Grapey, woody flavors.
