Cask - Pratt St (ABV 6.8%). Soft rustic fig and raisin aromas warm to swirls of cherry toffee and yeast throughout. Flavor is similar with a musty dark fruit component riding a soft wave of caramel yeast. Touch of earthy hops in the background keeps most of the sweetness in check. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Nicely done... Travlr (26066) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - MAR 2, 2011
A "northern European lunch beer?" Is that anew style? Is it OK that I drink it at dinner time? This one was full bodied, had an aroma of smoky nuts, and tasted like burnt caramel and light spice. Nice. radagast83 (8451) - Arlington, Virginia, USA - FEB 26, 2011
Cask at Churchkey. Poured a clear copper color with a small off-white head. Aroma was toffee, caramel notes, touch of toasted malts. Flavor was crisp sweetness, malty, touch of hops. gsmitty80 (2130) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 17, 2010
The dark color threw me off for a bit and the style of beer i had never heard of. Turned out to be a pretty thick and malty beer, enjoyable. willblake (2664) - Bel Air, Maryland, USA - MAR 28, 2010
29100328 tap at Max’s. Dark amber with sturdy beige head of medium foam. Aroma is a bit vegetal, celery, on top of bready malt and sweet fruity notes. Light to medium bodied with mild eff. Flavor is mild, crackery malts, fruity light cherry and berry, a touch sweet. Meh.

Reddish amber color, don’t remember what the head looked like. Aroma of fruit and malt. Flavor was much of the same, but struck me as quite weird, especially for the style. Also, floral and sweet. Didn’t enjoy much at all. Ungstrup (38383) - Citizen of the universe, DENMARK - NOV 20, 2006
A hazy red beer with a lazing beige head - doesn’t really look like the Biere de Garde’s I’ve had from France. The aroma is sweet with light notes of berries - it is served very cold, so not that much aroma appears. The flavor is sweet with primary notes of berries, but also a light note of butterscotch, leading to a bitter end with notes of berries. The mouthfeel is a bit sticky. Draught @ The Wharf Rat in Baltimore
Amber color, dark mahogany with nice head and lacing. Nose of musky, husky malt. A touch of the tart barny character and a lot of caramel malt. The finish dolemike1 (1289) - Jeannette, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 24, 2006
Ehh... biere de Garde? Clear and brown, with an off white head, malty (caramel) and lightly fruity aromas and flavor. Odd take on the style. Not a bad beer, just not expected. 3fourths (9358) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - JUL 22, 2006
Very pale aroma, hard to notice at all, but still has some faint tobacco and black cherry scents, just pretty light. Flavor is similar, with a moderately strong lactic off-flavor. Ok, but not what a biere de garde should be.
