Reddish amber color, don’t remember what the head looked like. Aroma of fruit and malt. Flavor was much of the same, but struck me as quite weird, especially for the style. Also, floral and sweet. Didn’t enjoy much at all. willblake (2654) - Bel Air, Maryland, USA - MAR 28, 2010
29100328 tap at Max’s. Dark amber with sturdy beige head of medium foam. Aroma is a bit vegetal, celery, on top of bready malt and sweet fruity notes. Light to medium bodied with mild eff. Flavor is mild, crackery malts, fruity light cherry and berry, a touch sweet. Meh. obxdude10 (2324) - Pottstown, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 16, 2002
Dark red in color, didn’t keep a good head, very smooth, very strong malty flavor, strong aftertaste as well

The dark color threw me off for a bit and the style of beer i had never heard of. Turned out to be a pretty thick and malty beer, enjoyable. scraff (2121) - Baltimore, Maryland, USA - MAR 31, 2011
Cask - Pratt St (ABV 6.8%). Soft rustic fig and raisin aromas warm to swirls of cherry toffee and yeast throughout. Flavor is similar with a musty dark fruit component riding a soft wave of caramel yeast. Touch of earthy hops in the background keeps most of the sweetness in check. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Nicely done...

Earthy, malty aroma. Appearance was a dark bronze with a small head. Roasted malt taste with some sweetness paired with a nice bit of fruitiness. Medium-bodied with a malty, well rounded flavor. dolemike1 (1288) - Jeannette, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 24, 2006
Ehh... biere de Garde? Clear and brown, with an off white head, malty (caramel) and lightly fruity aromas and flavor. Odd take on the style. Not a bad beer, just not expected. Holdwine (1227) - Beertimore, Maryland, USA - MAR 17, 2005
Quite nice. Dark red pour with a good toffee malt nose. Slight carbonation with a very complex and slightly sweet malt. urbnhautebourg (997) - Annapolis, Maryland, USA - OCT 8, 2002
Very fruity, pleasant ale worth drinking. Bier de Garde? I doubt it--zero head retention, no musty cellar notes. The beer equivalent of a Beaujolais. Fun and easy. tsarman (794) - Northern, New Jersey, USA - JUN 5, 2005
Delicious beer. Very sweet and malty, though it is well balanced. One of my first in the style, but I enjoyed it.
