Medium Perry. Sparkling.

A youthful blend of early season perry pears. This is best served chilled. Straw bright perry with spicy, rhubarb nose that leads to a gloriously balanced rich pear tasting perry.
Perry pears from the orchards of Herefordshire, cold fermented by wild yeasts, matured and blended. Hints of hedgerow fruit and suave citrus flavors mix with pear acids and tannins to give a slightly sweetened classic sparkling perry.

Aroma is strong band-aid and mild notes of pears and sweetness. The flavor is pears, slight band-aid and a mix of mild sweetness and increasing tart in the finish.

In short: little tart dry finishing perry.
Pours little hazy light greenish, with vanishing white head. Pear, little wood, tart nose. Light body, average carbonation, crispy texture. Taste is sweet, pears, baked pears, some citrusy, rather dry and little astrigent finish. Enjoyable.

Bottle. Clear Pale yellow perry with a small white head. Aroma is spicy with notes of pears, funky barnyard, green apples and wood. Flavor is fruity with notes of pears, hay, funky leather, wood and oak. Well balanced.

Pint bottle from Friar Tucks in Glen Carbon. Very clear and light golden. A little swirling carbonation. No foam. It smells like apples and pears. Not bad, actually. Mostly I picked this up because I have only had one other Perry style. But this is pleasant and a little more complex than a typical cider. The pear has more going on than is typical including leather.

danlo (2798) - Darlington, Durham, ENGLAND - JUN 28, 2015
330ml bottle. Pale watery yellow gold colour, short-lived white foam head and aroma of mellow pear, woody & mild funk. Taste is sweetish, syrupy, pear, melon, fruity , tangy, with light wood, solvent and tannin, plus a buttery note. Slightly oily mouthfeel, medium bodied, soft carbonation, fairly clean finish with light hints of hay and minerals. Nicely drinkable perry.
