COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
English Strong Ale
This brew was named after Mr. Jones’ son.Jacob weighed 8.8lbs at birth so the beer will be about 8.8% ABV. His birth weight is being used to determine the amount of hops used in the brew. And since 8lb 13 oz of hops wasn’t enough on its own, they will be using 8lb 13oz of pellet hops in the kettle and 8lb 130z of leaf hop split between the hop percolator and dry hopping in tank. The hops used will be split between American and English varieties to reflect Jacob’s English and American parentage. The beer will also be dry hopped with Liberty hops, due to Jacob’s ironic birth date of July 4th (English dad, American mom).

I guess they also celebrate winter with this beer! Tap. Copper with a light head. Cinamon cookie or cake aroma is quiet but nice. Flavour starts with alcohol and cinamon cake. Then picks up to a oool higher level like a Christmas rum cake.

scraff (2121) - Baltimore, Maryland, USA - SEP 2, 2010
Draft - Pratt St. Ale House. Dark amber, creamy off white head. Toasted citric and earth tones warm to lighter swirls of cherry toffee and cereal grains throughout. Zesty citric-earth hop bitterness is well rounded with nutty toffee and grain-like finish. Just a dollop of cherry in the background. Full bodied, soft carbonation, bittersweet finish. Very well done and certainly worth seeking out...
