On draft or meridian pint. Pouts dark reddish brown with thin head. Aroma of toffee. Mouthful is a great mash up of hugely nutty brown and hoppiness fighting to come through. The most successful hoppy moment is up front with some tartness. The malty nuttiness is the biggest player the rest of the time. sonnycheeba (5988) - Federal Hill, Baltimore, Maryland, USA - APR 20, 2012
Cask. Pours deep, dark brown with average, frothy white head; decent retention and spare lacing. Aroma is earthy hops, caramel and cereal malt, figs, and leather. Flavor is balanced malt and hops with faint fruit esters; dry finish. Medium body and carbonation with low warmth. scraff (2121) - Baltimore, Maryland, USA - APR 14, 2012
Draft @ Pratt Street--Dark brown, creamy off white head. Toasted nut and earth aromas warm to swirls of toffee and brown sugar throughout. Flavor follows suit with loads of sweet browned malt tones layered over a high IBU hop madness. Actually well balanced from start to finish with 9% not found anywhere. Full bodied, smooth, prickly carbonation. Job well done on this bad boy...
